So, I want a wood rack for each stove. To be more specific, I want a wood rack for each stove that holds more than three pieces of wood. To be even more specific, I am looking for a wood rack, NOT a wood rack/fireplace tools holder/newspaper holder/twigs compartment/glove holder with optional margarita maker and four slot toaster oven...

Just. A. Wood. Rack.

That can hold a few days worth of wood. Two days would be a good start. I'm not greedy. It doesn't have to be gold plated. Or diamond encrusted. Or bedazzled. Just a simple, good sized rack.

My neighbor is an iron worker and runs his own forge. I think I might stop by his place tomorrow with a case of beer. A case of Guinness should go far.

I bought the $49 Chinese made Landman from Lowes :-/
8' & made it 5' It's black and holds a weeks worth if burning regularly

Why don't you just go to HD and get some 2x3's and some flat metal gusset plates and for 10 bucks build any size wood rack you want? Really, though, wouldn't it be sweet to at least have a beer holder in it?

I hear the wall street journal has some suggestions :cheese:

The most un-handy among us could make what I described above. For those people: use SQUARE DRIVE screws, and drive them with a drill.

I built one a few years ago, from some pristine oak pallets my neighbor got with a floor tile delivery, but I want a different one. This one is vertical, and vertical stacks of anything are a pain. I want a horizontal one that is like a chest, just a little deeper than the max wood length, with a hinged cover that you can sit on if you want to. If you see one, tell it I'm waiting...

I got a 4'x 18" thats 3' tall rack from Lowes. It sits in my sunroom and holds 2 days worth. I have another rack next to my stove that holds another half days worth. Both were about $60. Well worth the not having to go out to the stack 2-3 time a day.

I bought one of those U shaped racks at Lowes for $69, holds about 4 days worth of wood

Any chance you have a link to that rack?

Nice name BTW. My Grandfather still brags on the BAR

BrowningBar I built two of these so one rack is always drying for a while before you use it.

I can't find a link to the smaller one but there in the store.

How the hell did I miss that?! I think I'll give Lowes a call tomorrow and see if they have the smaller one.

I've posted this before but this beast in our basement holds a pile of wood, it is on rollers and it holds the mess that comes with bark and bits falling off.

That's nice i have been looking for ideas for a wood rack.

This is a small box I built in my garage.
It could obviously be made to look much nicer for in the house.
It is 4' wide x 4' tall x 18" deep.
The cutout in front allows easy access to the wood on the bottom and in the corners.
The box design contains the mess.

If I were to build a rack for holding firewood inside the house, it would have to be tight. No bugs or moths welcome.

Same here, no open racks indoors. If nothing else, it contains the mess.
