I am looking for a supplier for a TACO 007-VSSS-5 IFC Setpoint circulator for my in tank heat exchanger installation. The variable speed pump control keeps a setpoint mix (I am setting at 130F for radiant). My local plumbing supply can get it but it is a 4 week lead item. Anyone know of a good supplier who may have it in stock? I have added my digram FYI. Alternatives are welcome.

I would try www.pexsupply.com - I have had good luck with Taco items from them. If it is not listed on the website give them a call, because they probably have the pump you want.

What are you using for your in tank heat exchanger? I had a 42 gallon galvanized steel tank in my storage tank to heat/temper my DHW but it rusted out. I put a 200 foot coil of 3/4 pex and that does nothing at all to temper the cold water.

Here's the PexSupply link to it:

One of the well known pros once commented here that for a little more money you can get the Taco 007 and a Tekmar differential controller (Tekmar makes the electronics for the Taco Delta T pumps). That way you can get all the cool digital readout features of the separate Tekmar that the combination units don't have.

We are using a copper finned coil (4" diam, appx 30" long) from AHONA. The standard coil is rated at 6GPM 55 degrees inlet and 140 degrees outlet so we should have plenty of water to mix with 110 inlet temp versus 55. It is mounted on a 4 inch plug which fits the 4 inch port that AHONA welded on my tanks when I bought them. My maximum flow rate requirement is 9 GPM with a 20F delta T (110 -130).

I have the 007-VDT, and I got mine from our local supply house, weinsteins. You can give them a try. But, I like DaveBP's idea much better. I had mine apart, and I can verify the VDT control pcb is from tekmar. I would much rather have the "cool" digital read-out, for just a litle more coin. Then, your replacement if ever needed is real easy to find, and dirt cheap. The control is then pump independent.

Good Luck!
