I finally gave in. Couldn't help it. Sub-30 temps and a cold wife will do it! My doggie loved it.

Yup. Last year a week before Christmas. Never laid tile before that. A real confidence booster when it was all done.

Looks nice Scotty!!

Is that ceramic tile?

That looks very nice. I "caved" long ago. The tightwad in me makes my arsehole cinch up every time the electric heat kicks on, and I have an old hay barn running over with dry wood.

That is a nice install.

Nice install, looks great.

Nice way to cave in Scotty. Dang, that wood heat is hard to beat, eh?

I don't think you "caved", at all! As a matter of fact, I think firing that baby up was a very prudent move.

I work for someone who is all about never turning on the heat at work. When I dare to complain I'm told to "toughen up". They have a "thing" about not turning on the heat at home until Thanksgiving and are perpetually in search of this year's firewood supply to feed a poorly maintained smoke dragon and gunk up the flue.

I'm plenty tough when bein' tough is important/necessary. But being cold isn't part of my plan; I spent way too many cold evenings in my 56 degree bedroom when I was kid in the '70s. All done with that, thanks! I see no point at all in having stoves if you don't use them to keep everyone cozy. Bein' perpetually chilly sucks.
