I’m new to the site and I’m Getting ready to pull the trigger on a Harman Accentra insert. I’ve been trying to decide on wood or pellet for quite some time. Just want to thank everyone for all the great info I found searching this site. Although I just saw a photo of the enviro M-55 cast insert, but my brain hurts too much to make anymore decisions. Accentra insert, fresh air option and ceramic logs and I’m done…. I think?

Are you sure?

Just kidding! The Accentra seems to be pretty popular around here. It should do just fine for you. Just keep it clean and properly maintained. When its install and running for you. Please post up a picture so we can see the new toy! :)

Enjoy

Thanks! I used the coupon. I just got back from the dealer. The insert is being installed on 12/10. The next step is cleaning out a spot in my garage for 3 tons of barefoots.

Nice pick of a stove.

I also bought the log set. Only used them for a few months cause they were a pain to clean. Ash builds up on them. Also without the log set more light enters the room and my wife said they looked like deer antlers. Anyway, they have been on a shelf in my basement unused for over five years now.

The dealer told me most people who buy them take them out because they are a pain to clean or some people put them in the spring and summer when the stove is just sitting there. I'll probably cancel the log set, but I figured it was easier to add it now and cancel it in a few day, versus adding later. Not worth the ninety bucks if it's going to add aggravating to my life.

I pulled the trigger on the Accentra three weeks ago .. omg .. I don't get it for another three weeks ... I already cleaned out my garage and have empty pallets for my pellets sitting in the space I made, even though the pellets come with pallets. I just wonder how many pallets of pellets my pellet stove goes through. I have gone around town and spied out who sells pallets of pellets and can't wait until my stove comes in so I can try them all!!! I am not 100% on the OAK, and wonder how much that "option" goes for, if you know, would you mind telling me? I passed on the logs, I think they look too fake, I never even thought about the "cleaning" of them .. whew that would of seriously dorve me nuts. My only other thing I need to consider it the "rail" systm, my dealer said, that he doesn't put too many in, and when he gets to my house and takes a look at my hearth he will advise me wether I should get one or not, again I have no idea how much those are, if someone knows please let me know. TJ, if your like me .. the next 5-6 weeks will take FOREVER

Willburg,

I have my invoice at home, but I think the OAK was right around $150.00 or $200.00. I included that in my original quotes, so most dealers lumped it in with the quote. It is listed on the sheet from the dealer I bought it from, Ill check tonight. I don't quite get the rail system and I forgot to ask about it. Now that is something else I should look into. I have to start making room in the garage tonight for the pellets. I think I'm ordering the barefoots, or the Hot ones... A buddy of my burns the New Englands and he is happy with them, decisions, decisions.

I just called my dealer yesterday about the OAK since I was thinking of putting it in. It's 100 for the kit that goes onto the stove itself. The adjustable chimney intake is 80.

The logs look nice in the summer, but I take them out for the winter season. They collect a lot of ash plus you need to take out the bracket everytime you clean the heat exchanger.

Chris

TJ, I was told to hold off committing to pallets of pellets until you test them in your stove .. this wait is killling me too, 'cause the prices are pretty decent right now

I know, but I'm not waiting... I just figured I couldn't go wrong with one of the top rated brands, Hamer's or Barefoots. I want the stacked in my garage when the stove is installed on the 12th. I plan on being toasty that weekend.
