Hi all, long time reader new member. After allot of reading and research, I'm going to get into the pellet stoves. A friend has a Harman pp38 that I have checked out and like, and he is blunt and said only thing he regrets is not going ahead and getting the p43 for the auto lighting. So after pricing both the p43 is $2600 with the $100 coupon and the pp38 is $2200. Is that good prices for either coming from a dealer that is highly rated for their good service? I like the p43 overall, and only have 1000 sq ft to heat and think it would cut the electric bill down a good bit.
Also thought of just getting one of the cheaper stoves from Lowe's for $1000 and after looking them over don't know if I would be happy with it although many have had good luck with them, it is the summer's heat 1500 sq ft one. So any advice you want to give jump right in. Thanks.

I think its a fair price, not the greatest, but not the worst, and if you trust the dealer, thats worth maybe a bit extra! Up here they go for a bit less money (PM me on that if you want)....as for the unit, P43 is, IMHO, MUCH better than the p38.....not only autoigniting, but also thermostatically regulating right out of the box, puts out 5000 more BTU's per hour too! I would get the p43 and not look back! Stay away from the cheapies, and the morons at Lowe's, unless you get lucky and find someone who knows their a$$ from a hole in the ground.

Welcome, Many members have both the stoves your looking at. i am sure they can stear you into making a sound descision.

Please take pictures when you get it up and running..

If there isn't a picture... it didnt happen !!!

( I just love that saying )

summer’s heat is made by englander stove works there are lots of them out there running for many years and englander has great tech support they
dont have all the bells and whistles as other stoves but they work. if you want to just get in to a stove that are cheap and reliable but not real pretty but love mine.

2x englander stove, bought mine used off craigslist this year, very good stove with the best customer service i have ever seen, keeping the house nice and toasty.

Well I talked to a dealer that is 20 miles closer today, ended up $200 cheaper for the p43 and he will do the install for $200. I think that's a pretty good deal. I am going to stop in next day I'm off and may just go with it.
Now to get to hauling the pellets!

I don't know what kind of an install you are getting for $200. unless that is just labor and the venting material is part of the stove cost. My installer cost about $900 and did a poor to fair job. Is he including OAK in the install? Do you have any vertical run either inside or out in that venting material? Don't forget to get a surg protector. It's all part of the cost.
Hope you'll share a pic when done. Enjoy!

save$, yes the $200 is for the labor installing it. I pay $250 for the venting and OAK, and there is vertical run outside to above the roof. I already made my own pad, bigger than needed but I had the stone tile laying around anyhow so made good use of it. Thanks for the reminder for the surge protector, I picked one up today!
I'll try and post a pic after its installed.

kinsman stoves, I'll shoot you a pm as didn't see in time to call, thanks for any help you send my way.
