I bought a stove from a former coworker a few years ago and am currently building a house to put it in. I told a salesman at a local stove store about it and he made it sound like it would burn my house down and leave a crater. He had never seen one klike it though. I tried a test fire in it outside and it did fine, minimal smoke and not overly hot. can anyone help me identify this stove or give me any useful information/advise about it?

I have no idea the maker but the little chubby R2D2 thingy is really effing cool looking! It does not look like a home made job-if so it looks well built and thought out. Neat design on the 3 locking doors! welcome to the forum

Wow, that is quite the stove. Gotta be made by a gasket company.

I meant the three on top, but freaking cool looking chubby R2D2 stove and I hope it works out for you!

I can't tell you anything about the stove.

If you don't have a manual to tell you otherwise, you need to keep that thing a min of 36" away from combustibles.

I'd try to get a R2 or better hearth.

Are the doors cast iron. I would be concerned up how tight that stove can be especially when its hot. I had a real nicely built stove (1 off ) that had a nasty habit off warpping the door when it got hot. It would warp and then leak air plus it couldn't be opend till the stove cooled down. I got rid off it!

Exactly my thought when I first saw it.

all doors, walls and other parts of stove are 3/8" steel with edges chamferd for rigidity. only the center door locks, but it holds the side doors in place. Same for the bottom doors. There are no brand barkings, stamps or tags anywhere on it.
