I need to purchase pellets for this season. I can pick up Hardwood Heat, Stove Chow, Natures Own, Prest O Logs or Green Teams. I have tried all of them but Green Teams. I know this is kind of subjective and it can vary from region to region and from store to store, but if you could purchase any of these pellets which would it be? Prices are pretty much the same $229 - 10% coupon. Thanks for any input

Stove Chow and Natures Own are the same pellet in a different bag. Both are made by Energex. Hardwood Heat are Hamer Hot Ones. From What you listed I would say in order

1 Hardwood Heat
2 Greene Team
3 Stove Chow
Natures Own
4 Pres to logs

With the M55 cast you can burn any of these without an issue. And You might want to do a couple bag burn of each to see how they do for you. YMMV from what I experiance with the listed brands.

X2 Try Before you Buy!!

I've burned several of each except the Green Teams. I can't say that I noticed much of a difference other than the scent and color of pellets. I did notice that the Prest O Logs had very little fines but also they had an acrid smell to them.

I have seen it mentioned that these brands are good for shoulders but are these pellets good enough to get me through the coldest days of winter?

I'd get the Hardwood heat for the cold months, and the Greene team for the shoulder months.

Hamers are my winter stash pellet for this season and I just snagged some stove chow to get me thru the low 20's weather. The Greene Teams would be pretty close to the Hamers. But please check a couple of bags of the Greene teams seeing as you haven't tried them yet. But you should like them as the M55 will not care its just gonna eat and heat! :)

How much you plan on buying?

Thanks guys for the input. I will be buying the Hardwood Heat and the Green Teams

Try the Natures Heat brand at Walmart or Sam's, they work wonderful for me.

I now have two tons of Green Teams sitting in our warehouse. I will be getting a ton of the Hardwood Heat real soon.

I've had very good results with the Green Team, and was not impressed with the Presto's at all. What J wrote is right on. Good luck with the Green's Kev

Like Joey said Tractor Supply has them. They are $219 a ton near me.

I think you'll be very happy with those choices. Keep us updated on how they burn in that beautiful new stove!
