ok so i recently bought and installed a harman pc-45

got a free ton of magic spark (dealer norm sells them for $210 a ton

they seem pretty good so far

but its gonna take more than one ton to heat my place this winter so i gotta find some pellets

most everybody around there (west michigan near grand rapids) carries "michigan wood pellets" brand made in holland michigan for $189ish

I'm all for supporting the local place but everything I read about these pellets says that they are shoulder season material

the only other thing ive found is pro-pellet (by fiber by products should be identical to my magic spark) for $186

i would like to find some really good stuff

anybody near me have a good source?

Only one of those places is less than 3 hours away

And they only carry magic spark

It's almost as frustrating as propane was expensive :)

Check all of the big boxes also, that particular site Jay provided doesn't have anywhere near all of the places that carry pellets.

You should also check out local feed and farm supply stores.

i live in greenville and are local tsc has pro pellets for 159.00 a ton..thats what i burn i love em you might wanna check to your closest tsc

Also check Menard's. Many stores have Somersets which are a great pellet. $188 a ton at the Big Rapids Menards, was just there and they have many tons in stock. :)

I second Menards. I just bought 2 tons of Somersets from the Jackson store. They priced matched Home Depot price of $179 a ton.

+3 with Menards.

The store on Alpine Ave in GR has Somersets for $189.

Make sure they only charge you 4% sales tax, I have had to go back for refunds when they accidently charged the regular 6% sales tax.

Good Luck

Why only 4% sales tax when MI state sales tax is 6%??

Smart Energy in Grant carries about 8 different pellet brands, including Uncle Jed's. I've bought pellets from them for the past couple years. Easy to find..right on M-37.

Because in Michigan 4% is sales tax on heating.
http://www.visitsmartenergy.com/ Only place in Michigan where I can find a selection.

These guys always treat me right for pellets also.

www.h2oasisinc.com

They have two locations-Rockford and Nunica.

I bought 6 tons of ProPellets from these guys for $169 each this year. ProPellets aren't quite as good as Somersets but not bad overall.
