my shenandoah fp-i insert....heres my problem...it has a rheostat type dial for the fan speed....when i turn it to manual and high it blows good..but if i turn it down any at all u can hear the fans turning at low speeds but not realy moving any air....think the rheostat needs replaced or is it the blowers?...my guess is the rheostat....it is thermostat controlled...had the cover off this morning and held a lighter to the thermodisc and it would kick on but not moving air....just hear the fans churning...but again works on high and manual..

i think ur exactly right fireplace tech..took it apart..and the left blower is blowing strong..right is like dragging with lots of noise...but where do i find..the blower for this stove?.....have no clue where to start

A cheap bathroom fan will have the same shaded pole motor. Gut it and switch out keeping the prop fan the same.
At least check it out and do some comparing with a little imagination happening in your mind. ;-)

Until then, clean up and flood the ends with 3 in 1 oil. It will probably carry you along for quite awhile. All the fine dust packed around there has removed the lubrication.

Try here: http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/dayton_blower.htm

I suggest you disassemble the motor and clean everything .. The bearings are probably sleeve bearings and they usually have a felt pad around them, add light weight oil like straight 10W to these pads and a little coat on the shafts, reassemble and run and see how it goes.. You may get lucky and salvage the motor.. Not fond of these motors but they are cheap..
