Hi T,

No info here, but she's a beauty! That's my home town, so if you ever want to sell, shot me a line.

Good luck!

I am surprised this stove is not more popular. Its a battle wagon. I can load the box full of 20" + wood and it heats the garage really well. Its is mostly welded steel but, has a cast iron doors. I think that it compares to a couple of Fishers that I have seen.

I did some Googling, and evidently Kalamazoo stoves (cook stoves included) and furnaces were sold by the millions, and very well thought of. It seems the company converted to military production for WW2, and never recovered.

They sold their products directly, like a current well thought of stove company. "A Kalamazoo, Direct To You" Sweet!

Sounds worthy of a wiki article once the research is complete.

Thanks BG--where? Is there a wiki here?

And Taconite, at the bottom of the article I linked to, there's a place for parts for Kalamazoo stoves! :coolsmile:

Some parts for coal and wood-burning Kalamazoo Stoves are currently available from:

* Heckler Brothers
* 4105 Steubenville Pike
* Pittsburgh, PA 15205-9644
* phone: 412-922-6811

And welcome back BG--is your power back on? I hope all is well with you and yours!

I wonder if someone else manufactured Kalamazoo stoves after 1952. I have done research on this also but, have not come up w/ much either. My stove has a welded box. Which make me beleive that its newer. 8" flue. Non cat. It will hold a bunch of wood. But, it's hard for me to believe that it would be that old. Its in great shape. I would rather have something like a Blaze King but this will get thru for a couple of years. Its a slow roaster but, it is needs to be reloaded every 12 hours. Granted I never pack it full so I'll see this winter. Unlike most stoves that I see on here this one runs hotter

Yes! Take a look at the stove in the inset:

Look familiar?

Heh heh heh...

If you click around on that other link, to their "parlor stoves" section, you'll see catalog pages for their Pride, Cottage, and Star models. All are from around 1900, and are ornate enough to look like they came out of the parlor of a wh***house. :) Sculpted castings, chandeliers, the whole nine yards.

Yeah that looks like it.. Good find. Have also seen these in smaller version that the flue is out of the top.. Maybe there was a major stove vendor for these in the TC area.

I love the stove she just purrs at about 650F. It might get to 700F for a bit then drops right down to 650ish. I really don't get to concerned because it looks to me to be 3/8" plate.

I still wonder how it would compare to a Blaze King.... With the cat I don't doubt I would get a longer burn time.
