So I stopped into Lowe's tonight on the way home from work.

I had to pick up something to cut some 1/2" and 5/8" circles in cowhide.

While I was eyeballing plumbing fittings and pipe I noticed some 1/2" OD with 3/8" ID polyethylene tubing

It was $.27 / foot so I bought just over 6' of it.

So If you guys would like a vac adapter tube I can make about a 1/2 dozen or so.

Get me your vacuum hose inside diameter and a mailing address and I will send you one.

Nailer,

An adapter like yours is what I have been searching for.

What a kind offer.

PM has been sent.

Thanks very much,

Ranger

Here's mine.....putty knife for the burn pot scrape once a day, and for my weekly cleaning I have a chisel and a flat screwdriver to get any built up creosote off the end of the auger tube and around the burn pot area, my 6 gallon shop vac, a short piece of garden hose (wif a little tape on one end so it fits snug in the end of the shop vac hose) to get into those hard to reach spots, and a flashlight to help me see into the nooks and crannies ;-)

Maybe to tap the chisel with, some folks have been known to pound on baffles to knock loose ash down, etc .... I also like my stove and no hammers get used.

Impressive! What's the handheld scanner looking thingie at the lower left??

Those are called paper towels.
Bahahahahah! Oh, that so funny to me.

I would have thought with all of these tools, there'd be nothing left for the paper towels :)

Missing from the pic is the drywall vac and mini hose home made attachment.
Oh and I use the hammer to gently tap all over the inner/back wall of the stove
which releases more crap that falls into the ash traps and then proceed
to vac it out with the mini attachment.

Nice. I guess that works better than licking your finger and listening for the sizzle :)

Why waste time licking your finger when you can just put your tongue on the stove. :p

I don't have a pic, but my entire cleaning kit consists of a 2.5 gal. shopvac, the scraping tool that came with the stove and a roll of paper towels. What the heck am I missing here? :-/ (besides the hammer)

Hello

A Lowe's Halogen lamp makes a great Pellet Stove Cleaning Light.

Also Home Depot's ceramic CookTop Cleaner is way cheaper than the Stove Shop's Glass Cleaner!

The ash dump brush came with the stove.

Of course I use a 6 gallon Rigid shop vac for the dusty ash. :)

Awesome thread, thanks to all who took the time to show the tools and offer their tips.

Time to make one of those vacuum attachments, great idea that I would have never though of.

Wow, for a pellet stove! Kind of looks similar to what we would set up on an instrument table in an operating room! I trust your "clients" are cured.

There is a tool I use everyday which got blocked behind the cleaning box, you can see the red handle. it's an oil filter wrench...the BEST for disconnecting the clean out cap on T's and taking very stubborn pipes apart. A must have.

kofkorn, can you install stove boards on the sides? I think that would take care of your clearance to combustibles? But I still would not want to be the one that has to service the unit!

I've considered that, and I agree with your comment on the service, but even worse would be the ability to access the control board. If you look at the second picture on the right hand side of the stove, I used a couple of angle brackets to face the control board forward. If I reduce the clearances even a little bit more, I won't be able to reach the control board.

Nope, I think it's going to have to be the hard way.

I noticed that the ONE thing I haven't seen yet, in anyone's photos, is a basic "ABC" Fire Extinquisher. (No, I don't normally keep it right NEXT to the wood stove. I put it there for this picture, just to illustrate the basic tools I need. A good pair of gloves, the poker set, and the Fire Extinquisher).
