After many years of use (Whitfield Advantage II circa 1990) I recently purchased a Whitfield Profile 30. The problem is it whistles on any fan setting but low , and a little bit on low but not as noticeable. Question is , is this normal. Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds like something is stuck in the air path and acting like a reed.

Maybe time to clean out the convection air path.

You might also want to make sure that the fan is secure on its mount in case it is being caused by a gap that has opened up between the fan and its mount.

Taking the time to check the fan over for crud and to do an oiling if the motor should be oiled as well might also make things quieter.

Also was wondering about an air leak in the convection part , thanks again did'nt know if it was normal.
