I saw a banner advertisement for the ash dragon. http://www.ashdragon.com/ I'm intrigued. Does anyone have experience using this product? It looks like a winner to me.

I own a similar product called the "Ash Trap". Works very well, even when I have to remove coals that are still hot.
I'll never go back to the old "shovel & bucket routine".

We used a similar scoop made by a sheet metal shop for 26 years. Always worked well . Four years with the new stove and it's not needed anymore. The ash pan on the new stove works great!

It looks like a loser to me. The way the lid hinges, when open, it protrudes out past the front of the scoop. The Ash Trap design was different in that the lid slid back away from the leading edge of the scoop.

Well, I purchased an ash dragon anyways. Very nice ash remover. It is indeed dustless in the house. It fits right into the firebox and the lid can be closed while in the firebox to prevent ash or coals from spilling out on the floor of my family room.

I think this is a winner (for me). One scoop a day, more or less, and I can start a new fire with the remaining coals in the firebox.

How's that ashdragon working out for you? I just ordered one. Sick of the black dust getting everywhere.
