Hello there & welcome to the forums.

The 900 might do it but how well insulated is your cottage? do you have high ceiling, wind exposure, many windows? In a word how well can the cabin hold the heat in. If everything is in order the 900 might do just well other wise you may want to look at something larger.

I work for Osburn. The Osburn 900 has only been in the market since this fall so I'm not sure if many on the forum might have experience with it. However, this particular burn box (engine) has been used for many years in other models. Other Osburn users might want to jump in with overall experience with the brand to give a comfort level.

my osburn 1000 is 22 years old and heats our main floor (1100sqf) just fine even when it is -40 °C outside :eek:hh: stove is in the living room with vaulted ceilings, sort of open floor plan to the dinning room and kitchen. i don't know if the two stoves are comparable as mine is from 1988 and the 900 is new but i have no complaints with ours, glass stays nice and clean and the stove still looks new and seems well built. someone else may chime in with some more up to date info, good luck.
