Ground is now covered in snow. The Christmas lights show up better. Ran the snow thrower without breaking a sheer pin. Now burning a bag and a half of pellets daily. Back rooms have dropped down to 70 F. Still able to keep the first floor at 77-80 and the upstairs common areas to 74-76. Out door temp is 18 F and dropping. Furnace will kick in if the inside temp drops below 70 F. Only runs a few minutes, but it does a good job of circulating the air throughout the house and even out the temps.
Didn't get everything done I had wanted to before the snow. I'm sure it will all be there waiting for me in the spring. In the meantime, I'll keep the bird feeders full and sit by the stove with my laptop.

yes it is cold here in michigan about 17 out before wind chill not so much snow where i'm at but about an hour north of me got 18 inches in the last couple of days

Here in mid-state Connecticut, we were spared the real strong winter storms that have hit all around us, thus far. We had a light dusting a few days ago, but that disappeared. Who knows what the REST of the winter will be like round here. The temps are not getting higher than the mid-30's lately, during the day, and are running into the teens at night this week.

ummm....yes, this is Michigan :smirk:

Cold-Yes, Snow-No (yet)

Have had snow since before Halloween.

Temps have been quite nice the last few days - ~15* for the high, ~5* for the low.... bit of sun! and not even a breeze! Actually quite nice to work outside. I don't usuually start saying it's cold until it's well below zero.

15F in ohio enough snow to cover the grass. Corn stove running balls out this morning!

Western slopes of the Green Mountains; it started snowing on Sunday still snowing here this morning. We have somewhere just under 2 feet of snow from this storm. Funny thing 35 miles away in Burlington just a skiff of snow. Now the bitter cold is moving in. I worship my pellet stove!!

23 degrees right now, no snow yet, and the high for the day is supposed to be 29. The stove is definitely burning more than a bag a day now!

This is one bear that doesn't do it outside. I'm semi-civilized.

It is chilly here, there is still a bit of white in spots.

Bucky's brook and pond are iced over again and that reminds me, I've got to check and see if the trapper got the newlyweds yet.

Set the stove on heat range 2 and left it there yesterday.

30's by day, teens by night...no snow yet but I'm so ready and waiting
patiently like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.

Blasphemy! :p

Sorry lordgrinz. Been snowplowing driveways on the side for 22 years now.
It's very relaxing to me and it contributes to my "play money" savings.

snow covered and 25 outside right now. calling for the low teens next week.

I used to plow, but not for money. I found going out on these hilly roads during a storm to be white knuckle time for me. Then I had so many family members borrowing the truck to plow their drive, their friend's drive, and maybe where they worked, that it became too much for me to keep the truck fueled and serviced. So I sold it. Got a truck without a plow, and a snow thrower that is very easy to handle. The ones who used to benefit from my plow are now getting along just fine.

well woke up to two inches on the ground and falling fast and calling for snow the whole seven day forecast.

Same here.
Low of 10F tonight and 0F Thursday night.

Indoor forecast:
0% chance of precipitation and 100% chance of heat from pellets!

So much for global warming eh ??

We had some 15F and some snow a week or so ago and now its rain, wind and 40's

The weather usually does not get cold and snowy here until late December and into January.

This year, it's anybodies guess as to what will happen.

Snowy

About 2" ,mid twenties during day and low teens at night and don't forget about the wind chill.

Same for me. low 20's outside nice toasy 72ºF inside.

We have had a few flurries and a dusting. But the white stuff is not here. YET! Monday we had some Lake effect form the great lakes. Didn't get me but a belt of it hit the middle of the state and caught some off gaurd. Funny a half in of snow about stopped the roads for hours. Well that and a few trailer trucks over turning.

Nice pics!
