Seems like gasifier boilers are getting improved, modernized, and upgraded. More companies are exporting to USA. What about those of us who made the investment a few years ago. Now our boilers have become the old models, but we can't just trade them in like cars.
It sure would be nice if the boiler manufacturers would offer upgrade kits.

I installed a rk2100u controller on my tarm, I feel it was an upgrade. Other than that I don't know what else could be upgraded.

Yes, the technology is changing fast with new emission limits etc. Froling in Europe has auto ignition as an option & silicon carbide secondary tunnel. Lambda is old hat over there & should take over here, that would be an expensive retro fit though. I'm planning on running my Atmos for 10 years & selling it, it won't owe me any money at that point. For me the important feature of my next boiler is to just be able to throw wood in it & walk away, no lighting, nothing except cleanout. Randy

I like the idea of adding the rk2100u controller to my tarm. Are you happy with the upgrade?

I like being able to modulate the combustion fan, I feel it gives me a better burn and more control over my stack temp. Its also nice when approaching the setpoint the fan steps itself down when it gets a couple of degrees away. There are also many other variables you can set.

My tarm control needed a part(I forget which one) and when I checked on the price I decided a changeout to the RK would be an upgrade. I'm happy I did it, I always thought the Tarm control system was lacking.

I don't have mine installed where the tarm controls were, I felt it would get too hot for the electronics. On the EKO they are installed on top of the boiler with a shroud over them.
