ok my stove starts and then after 3 seconds the control board goes out and then is displayes an "8 8" then back to the "5 5"....then back to 8 then to 5 ..........it is driving me crazy any thoughts

model numbers on the manual are 10-CPM 49-TRCPM 49-SCHPM

ok i ran the thing through a full diagnosis mode........i only got the "8 8" error code when all parts were working......both fans and auger and stirrer and ignighter

Too bad it's Saturday, the tech dept at Englander are tops. Maybe one of our resident Englander Pellet gurus can lend a hand. I'm still learning. Like a sponge.

Steeler, I have the same stove.....never saw anything like that....have you had a power surge or outage recently? Is the stove plugged into a surge protector? Has it been running OK recently?

Hopefully, Mike Holton will see this thread and respond...he is the Senior Tech at Englander and is on this forum fairly often....he might be able to diagnose the problem.

Or you could send him a PM ("stoveguy2esw").

Did you buy the stove new, or used?

EDIT: Oh, and BTW....welcome to the forum!

no surges lately.....computer is still on and yes in to a surge protector..... did not run for 24 hours......got up this morning and it is acting like it is just constanty restarting....i replaced all fuses and still nothing

Is it on a thermostat and have you done a controller reset?

remove from power for a minuet will reset it.

It resets the control board back to factory default settings. The procedure to do this on an Englander stove is:

1. Unplug stove, and after a few seconds, plug back in.
2. Within 5 seconds, press all 3 bottom buttons at the same time....display should go to "F - 5", and then turn off.
3. Reset your bottom buttons to 1-1-1 to start with.
4. Let all the lights go out, and try re-starting the stove.

EDIT:
After step 3, you need to check to make sure the stove is still set to burn pellets, and not corn or cherry pits.
