I recieved a Whitfield wp2 advantage, serial # WH 41062. It was a gift. Nothing happens when i try to turn it on. I have checked the blower motor, exhaust motor, and auger. They all work. Is it worth replacing the control board? If so, where is the best place to buy the board?
Thanks

tinr, on my Quest Plus there is a fuse at the bottom of the controlboard. See photo.
Then again, your stove is a WP2 Advantage and I don't know if your stove has a fuse at all, but it's worth checking.

So, let's hope it's just a blown fuse. But, fuses don't blow for no reason, so all cables should be scrutinized for punctures of the insulation (naked copper).

It does have a fuse and it is good. I also checked power coming up to the board. It is there

If the stove is in good shape other than the fact that it does not run, then its certainly worth fixing.

Sounds like a failed board.

I have an Advantage WP 2 and its a great stove.

The folks at WoodHeatstoves (post here) can help you with a new board.

Does this stove have control knobs for the heat level and the fan speed ??

Should also have a push button to start the stove and a little slider switch to turn it off and on.

Board on the RH or LH side as you stand in front of the stove ??

Thanks for your response Snowy. The board has 2 knobs, a slider and a push button just like you said. The front part is silver. The board is on the right side as you are looking at the stove. Where would be the best place to get a new board?

Go thru the wiring schematics, I've the sister to your stove and the limit switches can kill things. Check for power on the terminal strip. There are on the sticky notes at the top of the forum page schematics on this site for those stoves. Hopefully your board is okay. When I got my stove the wrong pressure/vacuum switch was installed and gave me fits. Once I resolved that issue it was a great stove. I say "was" as I just went thru trying to replace the convection blower motor and could not get a direct replacement motor and wound up replacing the whole blower ($253). Not a happy camper over not being able to get individual aftermarket replacement motors. The OEM vendor gets premium prices. The switches are another thing, as they seem to be readily available in the aftermarket supply. I'm a frugal person and I've been happy with the old stove for heating a wide open basement. Oh yeah, the real eye opener is the flu/vent piping. Big bucks there, as the certified double wall pipe and fittings are made from some animal species on the endangered species list (being funny here), but, seriously, expensive. The stove CAN be the least expensive thing acquired and then the installation begins. bjr23
