First day of highs in the 20's and low's in the single digits. I'm frickin' cold. But I'll acclimate and be running to the woodpile in a t-shirt, shorts, and boots by mid-January in single digit temps.

Learning this new insert and have it 80 in here! It's great! 120 degrees warmer than outside! I would say the major burning species are white birch, white spruce and poplar.

9 degrees outside. 75 inside running both the harman and hearthstone @ idle.

6 Degrees outside. First real fire on the new T-6 lastnight. 30 x 28 Great room (where stove is located) went from 10 degrees (unheated temp) to 70 degrees in about 5 or 6 hours. This morning the room was still in mid 60s.

Still windy and haven't have power or water (electric well pump) for 2 days now.

Monday night it was 11*F, Tuesday night was forcasted for 12* but it ended up getting down to 0*. Had ice storm hit overnight with lows in upper 20's (heat wave). It is now in the mid 30's and have about 1/4" of ice on everything and power has been out for over 2 hours (thanks generator). The bad part about it is that we are in northeastern TN. We don't usually hit 0* until January.

Single digits this morning, looks like a slight warm up into the lower 20's. The Fireview should have no problem handling the load the next couple days. Sure is nice having that second Woodstock to help out at times.

18 when I woke up and reloaded. Up to a balmy 23 but the snow started an hour ago. The outside cat is in the basement and totally pissed off.

Today was actually the warmest its been all week. +18 here too this morn.
i feel for you poor dogs in alaska!! my lowest today go to -28f. kinda close to what you had but definetly the coldest i've had this season. still wondering what kind of wood is burnt up there?????
I’m just outside Fairbanks, I live in a birch forest so I usually burn white birch, and others are white spruce and poplar. Due to cold climate the wood here does not have the density as the lower 48. Do not get the best burn time and makes poor lumber also. At best 10†diameter for birch is as large as it gets around my place, spruce can get up to 20â€.

I am jealous of the nice piles of oak, elm and other hardwoods some of you guys have.

I would even be happy to have natural gas at my place. Alaska has huge reserves of it up north, but between politicians, animal lovers and environmentalists who have to stick their noses into this issue, I’ll never see it at my house.
