"Mandatory" at least for me, as of last week, is the purchase and use of a Native American Flute, hand crafted by Odell Borg, in F#!!!! (The "Golden Eagle" model, in Walnut, for those of you who know his work).

What a sense of calm .............what a sense of peace...........it just seems to GO with the stove!!

Is it better for starting a fire than a Super Cedar?

This is strange. We just visited AZ, and look at this natural outgrowth from a tree.....looks a lot like the bird end of one of those!

Whistle while you work.

soupy - Beautiful sound!

For $150+ I think you can do better for kindling, but whatever floats your boat!

I was gonna scoff at it being a "Tool," saying that a tool helps to complete work or a task of some sort. I guess this serves a specific purpose for you (relaxing and enjoyable, perhaps) but that same tool would piss me off so fast that I'd toss it into the stove because I couldn't make any music with it. Then I'd have to go out and chop some wood to calm myself down. I guess it could be a handy tool!

Care to share where you're finding those Rastafire Hemp logs in Ct. ?

Holy crap....that is a lot of Milwaukee's Best Light for that kind of coin. And I'd argue it is equally "calming". Ha!

Soupy.....

"Hemp is the name of the soft, durable fibre that is cultivated from plants of the Cannabis genus, cultivated for commercial use."

Got it? It was a joke :)

Speaking of weird branches. I took this picture while in Sequoia National park in a part of the forest which had been through a fire.
