Are you burning them? Should be a good pellet, as they are really Hamer's Hot Ones re-bagged for TSC.

Rich, do you know if they offer delivery & how much? Also, do they charge sales tax on them?

Thanks; they're right in my neck of the woods--wish I knew that these were really Hamer's; just paid $490 for 2 tons of the "real" ones.

This was confirmed for me by one of the owners of Hamers Pellets (Lori Hamer). I sent them an email asking about what pellets they "rebagged" for other companies, and she confirmed that the "Hardwood Heat" pellets are made by them (along with "Winter Warmth" sold by some Home Depots.

Agways brand is also a Hamer pellet as well. Seems Hamers is taking notes from Energex. :)

Didn't know that Jay....what does Agway call them?

Agway hardwood pellets. A fellow member shared it in my 2010 pellet review thread.

I thought about buying a ton a few weeks ago when the price was $219. Now that they are $186, I think I'll stop in tomorrow.
I had asked on the phone if they would honor a Lowes 10% off coupon. They never gave me a clear answer. I will let you guys know if they do.

I got 2 tons from the Flanders TSC earlier this month. They have someone local deliver them. He charged me $28/ton for delivery ($56 total) and he helped me stack them in my garage.

And they didn't charge tax.

I just stopped in to Tractor Supply this morning. I asked about the Lowes 10% coupon. The manager said no dice. He said they are already way below the normal sale price. He did say that they would honor the Lowes 10% coupon on anything nor on sale.
They are selling a brand called Appalachian Hardwood. The manager said that they were actually Energex pellets. He said that Energex was a better pellet that Hamers. I have never burned Energex before, so I bought a few bags to test out before I commit to a ton. Any thoughts on Energex brand selling for $186 a ton.

Imacman, looking at my above reply about the "real" Hamer's--I guess it could be taken 2 ways...I wasn't implying that I couldn't be sure they're Hamer's, just that I wish I knew that before getting the others, hence the quotes around real. Sorry it came out that way :red:

I bought 5 bags from this store in september. I have never burned hamer hot one but i can not believe these are the same pellets everyone raves about. For me they were extremely dirty and they did not burn as well as the lignetic and the barefoot I have also. For that price they are a great deal, I will probably make a trip out there to pick up a few more bags. Hopefully I got old stock and they are different now. I would try a few bags before getting a few tons.

If you had to choose would you buy a ton of the Hardwood Heat (Hamers) or the Appalachian Hardwood(Energex)?

My TSC only has Instant heat LESS in Enfield Ct, we never get lucky up here like you other guys, always crap around hewre, maybe best thing cheap is Stove chow at HD
If i ever saw hamer's at HD or TSC i'd buy them all!!

just pickup 2 ton of american wood fiber hardwood pellets at tractor supply 179 a ton no tax hope they burn good yellowpike

Energex pellets are first rate and it's a no-brainer at $186.00 per ton. In my opinion, people should get in on these low prices while the getting is good. Petroleum is spiking and I believe we are seeing the nadir of pellet prices.

My local TSC has Hardwood Heat, Lignetics and Instant heat. I haven't checked the price lately guess I'd better!

Energex burns dirty for me....I picked up a ton of Hardwood Heat from TSC and love them. Very hot!!! May get another ton this year. Five ton my first year!?!?

I went there today, you have to buy a ton to get that price. It s 4.5 a bag which is still good for the area. Lowes down the street still want 5.95 for stove chow

I burned through two bags of the Energex very quickly. The Green Teams burn for almost 20-24 hours before I need to fill up. These two bags of Energex lasted about 12-14hrs.
Being a new stove owner I am not sure what to make of this. I would assume that they do not burn as hot as the Green Teams and the auger keeps pumping pellets to keep up with the thermostat. Does this sound right?
