I am using single wall 8" vent in to connect to an econoburn 150. Unfourtantely the snap seam duct is to small too connect to the boiler. I want to fire the boiler but this is holding me up. Can any one provide some recommendation on how to connect? I am contemplating fabriating a section to fit using tow section of riveted together.

Thanks

A black pipe T fit right over the outlet on my boiler. Not sure if you just have the pipe connecting. I think the Menards had a 8" Band that might go around both.

I already had 6" chimney so I used a 8"-6" reducer from Ace Hardware to come off the boiler outlet. This single wall black pipe fit OVER the outlet not in it. I had a problem finding anything to fit INSIDE the outlet. I used a big hose clamp to secure it. Now from all the heat and cool cycles I can't get it off-it's on to stay with no issues. Simpson Duravent makes a Double Skirted Stovepipe Adapter---I don't if that is what you need--but you could poke around @ http://www.duravent.com/pdf/catalogs/dvl_durablack10.pdf --there might be something there you can use. Good Luck!!

Mine is the same.I reduced from 8 to 7" and the reducer wouldn't fit either inside or outside the boiler outlet.I had to make some cuts in the reducer and 'fit' it over the boiler outlet secured with 4" stainless hose clamps ganged together.Having the reducer on the outside of the boiler outlet goes contrary to good practice as any creosote can run out of the joint and into the room as opposed to running back into the boiler. I plan to have a stainless adapter fabricated to fit inside the boiler outlet to make it kosher. It works for now though. Oh,the boiler outlet is also slightly out of round also.

Yeah, definitely not right but going on 2 yrs. never had anything leak out--the reducer was a tight fit from the start...

I put a Tee right of the boiler . Off boiler tee'd up to stack. Put a cap on lower opening and will use for a cleanout. Moral to the story is a tee fits over the boiler pipe.

Thanks for the replies. I thought the hookup would be more straigth forward. Dale at Econoburn told me the outlet is set up for a double wall connection. I ntried putting a stadard tee and elbow on the connection and they fit with some elbow grease. The seams on these fittings are riveted - not with the snap seam. based on this I ordered 12" welded seam straight pipe with hope it will fit. I am itching to fire the boiler for the first time but this is holding me up. Thanks again

I drilled out the rivet on a Tee and then used a big stainless hose band clamp to hold it on the snout out of the EBW.
