Feeling the Heat

I would like to install a couple of digital temp gauges so I could monitor my water temp in the house. I would like one upstairs and one in the basement at the heat exchanger. I thought radio shack would have something like this but not even close. Any idea's where I should check?
Thanks
Doug

azel, has one dual read out. 2 sensors. works good used it on my greenwood last year. i think home needs in vermont has them.

You can also have a look a Dwyer instrument, they have a number of digital indicators and thermal switches. I bought a bunch of digital temperature controllers from ebay a couple of years ago for about $35 each. I think the seller was coldfusionx or something like that - they are obviously made off shore, but they seem to work ok. Ive had mine on continuously since I bought them and have not had a failure...yet. At the time the controllers were less expensive than the digital readouts. I bought these as I wanted an LED readout that could be seen from a bit of a distance in low light. I also wanted a thermocouple input so I could use one to measure flue gas temperature.

These work good, probe can be submersed if needed (non pressurized storage tank).

Additionally, they have 3 programmable outputs that can turn on or off at various temperatures. I use them to turn on the propane furnace & hot water heater if my storage tanks get to cold. I have the tech manuals if anyone wants them.

Thanks. I even asked at Menards today if they had or could get me a digital temp. No way. I'll call call House Needs this week. Thanks again.

If you are really a cheapskate like me go to wallyworld and get a oven thermometer with external probe. The probe wire length is only 2 or 3 feet long but I have spliced into them and extended them to about 10 ft.,maybe you could go longer I dont know. They run on aaa batteries (over a year so far).Last one I got was around $13 I think.

I have been looking at this Taylor thermometer with the intention of having an audible alarm come on if my supply line drops below my minimum or above my maximum temperatures. Can you give me any guidance as far as what the outputs are?
