So I have my Peterbilt parked in front of the house with the engine block heater plugged in to the outlet on the porch. On the same circuit is the pellet stove and the TV... my mother-in-law is cold (she wants me to turn off the pellet stove fan because she feels a breeze... at 240F!)... so my wife turns on a little 1500W electric heater and points it at her mother...poof!

Now we have a little smoke coming from the stove... not much but enough that the MIL is getting nervous... I tell my bride to wet a towel and hang it on the front of the stove to catch the smoke (she does) while I make my way to the dungeon to reset the breaker...

So, after about 2 minutes of excitement, we are back to normal... whatever that is.

Really, what is normal? LOL! What do you pull with your pete, flat, van, curtain?

Krooser,

It is always a difficult choice between keeping a man's truck engine block properly heated and satisfying the whims of ones mother-in-law.

My vote goes for the truck. :)

Regards,

Ranger

My vote goes towards burning the mother-n-law in the pellet stove ;-)

Insulated van right now.... hauling bulk chip taters

last winter I had the great fortune (cough, cough) to entertain my MIL after Christmas and I had the pellets stoves blasting with it 78 degrees and she still insisted on wrapping up in a blanket. Felt like dousing the blanket in kerosene and lighting it!!! Maybe then she'd we warm enough.....

Stop right there I see the proper solution to your problem, put your MIL outside. If the wife complains, put her outside as well.
