Here is my install. I have one piece I had made a little small and had to put in a filler piece. I will have this replaced next year.

I have to move the filter over to the other side and tie into main return trunk

Neat looking install. From looking at the install and the fact you spent the money on a decent furnace, I'm assuming your equipped, duly and truly prepared to keep an eye on that horizontal run. Hows it working? Any smoke on startup?

Let me tell you, I had a cutout of this unit and was moving it all around to see where it would fit and what my runs were. I have very little options as my deck runs the whole back side of the house. I am left with out the side like you see. I wanted more rise but I went out where a window was. I did this as I didn't want to get into finding more matching siding out there and that window has never been opened since I move in 5 years ago.

The run is just a little above 1/4 rise per foot. If we get a breeze, it's across that cornet of the house. I am at the 18' max as you can see the 3 - 5' sections there. I have only had a little smoke and that is why you see more of the red silicone but none outside of that.

If I start this in automatic mode, there is a ton of smoke to the outside and the inside is free and clear. I believe I have a fine draft as I see a nice flame inside. I don't know what this flame looks like normally in this unit so i don't know if I am lower than I should be.

I do have an OAK as this is a beefy unit and I wanted to be sure and safe.

Only thing I have left to do is take the box apart (bad design) to filter off the other side and hool it up to the main return duct.

And, for the first time in years I have my heat at 70 during the day :)

Actually, until I get that main return duct hooked up, I am heating 3600 sqft with this unit and it's great. I am trying to track the bag usage. I have 70 during the day with it down to 62 - 63 at night.

I am calling Harman to see if I can hook up a normal temp gauge

Your installation looks great. What did you use for a backdraft damper? Is it automatic or do you have to manually operate it?

They area manual and made by a local HVAC company. Ther are thick/heavy and well made. I needed both to be specific size.

I am going to replace both with gravity back draft dampers though. I want to do this in case wither turns on when it was thought it was off. This way, no issues. I had both made for $30. 1 14x18 and 1 18x20

So, I turned the heat down to about 65 over the night and was at 71 during the day. It was cold and woke to 25 this morning. IT got to 38 at one point today and down to 25 by 5.
from 8:40 last night to 5:45 tonight, I went through 2 bags of Green Team. I am heating the two floors and basement as I have not connected the return duct.

I think that is great for the amount used and the heat. It's not frigid out but it's cold. I can't wait to see what I use when it's just the two insulated floors.

I am the most comfortable I have ever been in this house during the winter. I am getting used to the warmer night sleeps. We have closed all but one vent in the bedroom to help with that

I am also running this in manual mode. Once I get a few days where I know the temp will be the same, I will test 2 bags in auto mode and two in manual. The manual mode on the PF100 will feed 1lb an hour. I have watched it and it will heat to trifgger the blower and shut off in a minute or so. Then do that again and again. So, 24lbs in the day but I think that it helps even the day, reduces the time it needs to warm back up to produce heat and when it demands heat, it's there and burns a ton less.

We shall see once I test. It only makes sense though, don't you agree?

Wow...I would love to get more pics/details of your install! I thought of doing the same as you, i.e. buy a PF100 to heat a 3000+sqft house attached to the ductwork of an existing propane furnace. Same as you, my deck runs the entire rear of the house. My exhaust run would have been at least 20ft to the nearest wall. My propane system has one furnace, but two heating zones (controlled by dampers) connected to a master and slave thermostats and that's what killed me. I couldn't (and still can't) figure out how to tap into the existing system and deal with the two zones. I was unable to get HVAC guys to return my calls and those that did pretty much weren't any better than I was at dealing with the two zones.
