saw these come from the same plant with the same markings other than being in a different bag are they the same?? what does anybody think on quality of both have been burning ligs semm ok little dirty guess the prestos would be the same? was gonna try some clean energy from lowes but the prestos here are only $177 a ton

Bought two bags this week to try from Lowes....burned hot but DIRTY....lots of ash....Even for the price at Lowes ($187 ton) I would not buy these....I bought the Stove Chows for the same price and a much better burn.....try a bag or two!

btw...the Clean Energy's burned very good for me....but they don't have anymore out on the floor....only full pallets....the funny thing is Jay tested the CE and don't think they were that great for him....you'll need to try a couple bags of each and see how they work for you.

I think the Prestologs are the same exact pellet as the Lignetics in the blue lettered bags. The Lignetics in the Green lettered bag seem to be a bit better. I could not get the blue lettered bags to do a heads up on them. But did burn a few more green lettered Ligies. And a few more Prestologs. The green lettered lignetics are definetly a bit better overall IMHO.

slvrblkk, I would definetly take another crack at the CE's. Your not the only one I have chatted with that had good results. Burning a mear 2 bags is just a snap shot/spot check from 1 batch. Its unfortunate the batch I got was not as good as what you saw. But thats the pellet game and how they crumble sometimes. Hey I choose the Stove Chow and some others are getting crappy results from them. Hit or miss with these brands sometimes. And we see that all the way to some of the tops of the heap. The consistent stuff seems to come from the in house fiber mills, The ones that use the open fiber market can be somewhat inconsistent as heck. Nature of the game in fiber quality. :)

Jay...do you know the date on your SC? The ones I bought at HD yesterday were dated 7/15/10. The SC I tried before were from Lowes dated 6/17/10....which burned good for me which is why I bought more except Lowes didn't have loose bags on the floor only full pallets....I hope the HD SC's burn as good....we will see tomorrow! Lowes has a bunch of Prestos now but they are too dirty for my stove.....

The 2 test sample bags were 3/28/10 and the ton I bought is 9/05/10. The ton is doing as well as the test sample. Very pleased with them. I only switch to some Turmans went the night temps dipped below 0ºF. I have burned 20 bags so far total. No complaints besides a bit of carbon build up in the burnpot. Still going a solid week without opening the door. Nice white ash burn, with a consistent flame. When I have some more room, I'll try to get some more if the deals are still there. I may try some more CE's too!

the lowes here in washington pa had tons of clean energy pellets will try some out bought 4 bags of prestos at home depot just put my first bag in i will have to say they are the darkest color pellet i have ever seen not sure if thats a good or bad thing. im almost done burning a ton of lignetics green label def burn hot but they are somewhat dirty just tryin to get a feel of what to buy next

UPDATE...... well i have burned 4 bags of the prestos and i really liked them. they seemed hot, ash wasnt too bad seemed to be a nice pellet drwback was there was some long pellets though. a very dark pellet compared to others i have burned but overall i liked them. now gonna try a few bags of clean energy from lowes before i make a decision on my next big purchase.

well tried the clean energy pellets. also not too bad got very hot actually the hottest the room has got also noticed the clean energy pellets were very small in size which i liked better but had more fines than the lignetics and prestos which say less than 2% on the bag all others i have used have been less than 5% but overall a good pellet in my breckwell insert no just need to decide which to buy
