I have a Summers Heat 55-SHPAHL I bought about 1-2 months ago. Installed myself. 5ft up and 3ft out. with OAK to the side. Burns great on heat range 1-3. I believe the the bottom buttons are default are 1-4-1. Burning Greenways. Clean everyday. Lots of ash. Well I think it's alot but can't compare. burned 5 bags of the new Infernos but same amount of ash but the Infernos had "no" fines and seemed to burn not as hot. Stove in lower level of Raised Ranch. finished. Burned a ton of Greenways so far. Everything seems good. No smell or smoke. Dirty white glass though but I was told that from the beginning. So no problems with that.

Here's my question if anyone can help. How do you change bottom buttons. I been reading threads on here but no help. Pressed bottom button and blower up or down before it changes and nothing. When I burn on anything higher than 5 in the heat range, fire seems to be really big but lazy at the same time. I don't think it's getting enough combustion air. I want to try to turn up the Low Air Burn a notch. Black soot on left side on start up too. But that goes away after the burn pot burns all the start up pellets. I cleaned pipes with brush and leaf blower twice. so I think everything is clean. Like the stove overall. Good heat. Dont have time to call Englander during the day. So if someone can help that would be cool. I know Englander Techs and Englander Owner experts on this site. Awesome site by the way.

Summersheatguy, welcome to the forum. lots of good people willing to give advice & help when you need it. And yes, Mike Holton, who is the Senior Tech at Englander is on the forum fairly often and is great to work with.

As for the burning, don't go by the Inferno pellets at all. They were HORRIBLE last year, and reports this year are not any better.....mix them with a better pellet to get rid of them (hope you didn't buy many). The Greenways burned good in my Englander last year when I test burned 2 or 3 bags, but they are not the "hottest" pellets around......what other brands are available near you?

If the factory setting is 1-4-1, I'd try to keep it there if possible, but increasing the LBA 1 number won't hurt. To change, press the LBA button, then press BOTH up arrows to increase, and 2 down arrows to decrease.

BTW, which side of the house is the exhaust pipe on....facing the prevailing winds?

Well I live on a steep hill so, I got wind on both sides going up the hill. But I think I'm ok there. I have vent opening directed away from upward wind. I will keep an eye on it though. I only bought 5 bags of Infernos at lowes to test but didn't like them even though they had zero fines. Anyways, they sold out. Before I got more. Getting 2 tons of Stove Chow delivered this week. They seemed better. I do like the Greenways. First year with pellet stove. 2tons/Greenways and 2tons/Stove Chow on the way.

I didn't try both up buttons at the same time. I will try. Thanks. I been reading up on lots of your post IMACMAN. Good stuff.

Thanks.

Glad I can help....keep us informed on how the stove burns, and we also like to see pics.....especially of burning stoves. :cheese:

BTW, for future reference, go to the control panel at the top of the page, and under the "signature" line, add the year and model of your stove. Most people will better recognize it as an Englander 25-PAH.

I have the same stove, here is something to look at when you shut down your stove and it cools you will notice a 1" gap at the sides of the back plate reach your hand around the corner up near the top of the combustion chamber there are 2 holes on the left and 3 on the right bought a 1" round these holes are where your burn air pulls through and they get a bulidup of ash that will near constrict them shut causing a lazy burn I reach in there and wipe them clean when I do my daily cleaning.
check those ond see if they have a build up of ash.
Tim

ooops forgot to mention, you cannot see these intake holes you will have to feel for them but they are EASY to find once ya know they are there, mine started to burn really sooty and I found them by accident when doing a complete cleaning.
