No hunkering down for me roads need to be plowed,stocked the wife up with pellets,cleaned the stove filled up the snowthrower and generator with fresh fuel as ready as I can be.Where I work in Devens there calling for 22".12" to "18 at my house.I love winter.

I'm on the western end of a winter weather advisory here in Kentucky... Got a generator for Christmas, so I can all but guarantee we'll never lose power again...

We're in the Red Zone. Expected accumulation 18" - 24".
Just finished taking down all the outside Christmas lights.
Perfect day to sit in front of the stove watching the Patriots.

Blizzard warning went up for here earlier this morning.
I got my outdoor decorations down and packed away, the stove cleaned (don't care to do it in the storm).
I just have to top off the chickens feeders and waterers. Then I'll add a couple more inches of wood shavings on the floors and nest boxes in their coops and they'll be all set to ride out the mass dumping of snow.
Have plenty of everything else (Bear snacks and brews).

except for the xmas lights. too lazy. hey, its only the day after. too early!
check over your snowblowers carefully. you should see what the #%*#@ mice did to mine! not only did they pack the transmission area w/ nesting (no surprise, there...seen it before), this time, they were in the MOTOR!
packed in around the flywheel. After I cleaned out the "box" where the drive mechanism is, I saw something moving in the motor...pulled the pull-start string gently, and watched the little buggers make their escape. I counted six of them. It was like watching clowns come out of the back of a volkswagon.
I was going to attempt to run it...everything seemed to move freely. So I started filling the tank, and gas just started tinkling out of the motor, and onto the floor of the shed. {sigh} they chewed through the fuel line.
So, had to take it all apart...new fuel line. Major pita, because all sorts of "stuff" is attached to the motor cover. what a mess!

Prediction here is 18-20+
Snowblower gassed up and ready to roll.
No more worries about having enough gas for the genny.
Sold both the portable and MTS this fall and replaced it with a NG whole
house standby.
Enough holiday leftovers in the house to last us a week. ;-)

They are saying 8 to 12 inches here in Delaware. I'm ready! Even went out and bought a snow shovel, in the hopes we wouldn't get snow! LOL
It has already started here and the ground is dusted.
Jtakman, did ya get the T paper too? That's the only thing I see you missed.

They never get it right here as I am close to the coast so more than likely we will
get much less than what they are predicting anyway.
Guess some people still only buy their pellets a few bags at a time too.
Was as HD this morning for salt and a few people were in line with 5-6 bags in their wagons.
One told me he was stocking up "for the storm". ;-)

I wonder what this sort does when the box stores swap them out for lawn furniture? Freeze till spring arrives. IDK! :bug:

I tried a Green Team and got a hotter burn from the chow, so I bought 3 ton. 30 degrees right now going down to 22 with a wind chill of 3. Love my pellet stove. 69 degrees and loving it.

I bought a ton of the Stove Chow. Doing very well for me, Burn 20 bags so far nice heat and decent ash. But like twojrts says "try them first".

ya i can do that,just figured i would try to save some cash,I did buy 1 ton spruce pointe and 1 ton vermont super soft

Both good pellets. Stove Chow is a notch under them. Save the stove chow for the spring shoulder season if they do OK for you after the trial. Burn them softies in the cold.
