6 to 8 inches with drifts over a foot so far here in Western Monmouth County and the news says it will continue to fall heavy through 4AM!! We could get 2 feet here in central jersey.. Wood is dry, snow blower is at the ready and the cooler is stocked..

At least you all can stay in an enjoy the storm while the giants stink out the stadium in Green Bay. Manning & company should have bought all those million dollar cry babies some velcro gloves.........................................

Wow, I'm in SE Virginia and I have all of y'all beat with 11 inches and counting! This is unusual down here, they don't have any/many plows so when this happens (it did last year for the first time in MANY) the town is pretty immobilized. Most roads around here dont get plowed, they just wait a few days and hope it melts. It's terrible though when the slush on the roads turns into ice!

I don't think they have EVER had a white Christmas here before! I've been down here over 20 yrs and don't recall anything even close.

Good thing Santa brought that purple plastic sled, we used it to go grocery shopping AND play today, and tomorrow it will play AND haul more wood in.

12"-18" expected here with wind gusts Monday, up to 50mph. Wood rack is full in the house, good for the week :)

LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW!!!

Blizzard warning here and loving it, already had tomorrow off from work for th holiday and now i may get to finally take my sled out for a spin.

The wind in blowing pretty hard out there. The wife and I tried to enjoy the outside hot tub but were driven back inside pretty quickly! I guess this snow storm is better to enjoy inside!

40 MPH winds here in southern CT. Side note....has anybody noticed strong winds affect your burn before? Seems like it took longer for the same seasoned oak I been burning to lite off. Almost like the winds pushing back and not allowing the flue to vent freely.

The wind is really kicking up. Brought in the "water garbage cans" for fill up.

Up to about 8" here.

Brought in a bunch of wood last night, and filled up my storage containers with wood to keep dry wood just outside the door. That alone should get us through 2 weeks.

Took a quick walk in the snow with my wife and little guy on my back before the wind really started cranking. Then played outside with my little lunatic while my wife heated up some soup. Came in thawed out by the fire with a cold beer, hot soup and great company. We love snow days around here. Especially now with the insert.

Before the insert we'd be chili all day. Right now the stove is cranking at 500*. The house is nice and cozy. The wind is whipping. It's 26* outside my door. Thank God for this wood stove. I love it.

Stay safe, stay warm, and burn clean my friends.

Getting hammered and lovin it.
I can't remember ever seeing a spectacular wind/snow punch.

wind blowing about 60 mph gust now. sounds like windows are going to cave in. this i cool. looking forward to snow shoeing in the morning

HA! Right, you ain't lived 'til you experienced a NOR'EASTER. Period.

Nastiest snowstorm on the planet, 1 to 2 feet of snow and 40 to 60 mph. winds for a day after......top that!

NO SNOW HERE IN GETTYSBURG, PA! NONE! NADA!
NO SHOVELING, WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!

BTW,

Wind is howling, we have a few snowdrifts, but we were spared here in the Poconos the storm stayed East of us here. We got a few inches maybe half a foot.

Well, in Central Mass they were talking 12-24"...and we have about 3 inches on the ground through the heaviest part of the storm.
These weather gals get purdier and purdier, but they suck at predicting snow.

Maybe six inches here-it's hard to tell because the wind is whipping down the road so hard the tips of my neighbor's grass is showing, but mine is covered and then some plus there's a drift developing on the side of my truck. I'm not touching the driveway (lucky we have off today) until this dies down. I'd rather get 2 feet with no wind than this.

6 doors in this place, and we can only get out of one.

Pics later.

>:-(

11 inches and still coming down--supposed to be out of here by 11 or so. Homestead's got the house at 71, two days' worth of wood inside, and the genny's sittin' by waitin' for action. Looks like I'll take a nap.

Godspeed!

I'm jealous-we got the run-around here in northwest New Jersey! Six measly inches-I did get to use my snowblower for the first time though :) Furnace is cranking (wind is nasty out there) and I'm sitting here watching the news coverage of all the poor folks who got stuck on trains for 9+ hours on Long Island.

We ended up with 6 or 7 inches here, no big deal there, but the wind is ferocious. The monster silver maple next to my house is making me nervous, I think that tree has an appointment with a chain saw come spring, provided it lasts the winter without crushing anything.

Only 6 inches as of 8 a.m. this morning . . . but pretty windy and it's still coming down. Plowed once . . . will plow again this afternoon or early evening. As a reminder . . . I believe blizzards do not necessarily mean having lots of snow, but rather snow and high winds which significantly reduce visibility . . . however I could be wrong . . . I'm not a weather guesser -- just a dumb firefighter . . . who enjoys the snow and who is thinking with this storm next weekend may mean open trails for sledding.

A solid foot, with much more in the drifts. On a plus side I found my ski goggles for snow blowing.
