With the new tax incentive package that was just passed in Congress, does anyone know if the "wood stove" tax credit was extended like so many of the others were?

I don't think so.

It has been massaged to a lower rate.

Six days left to get your stove installed under the 2010 tax credit

I'm hoping to fire my boiler on the 30 th for the first time.

Anyone planning on giving your stove tax credit to the government to help pay down the national debt?

I'm not claiming my stove purchase. I don't want big daddy government helping me buy a wood stove.

Cal if you want to help pay down the national debt you would be better served to take the credit then actually use the money and specify that you want it to go to the national debt.
So you may ask how can I do that ?????

Ah see below.

There are two ways for you to make a contribution to reduce the debt:

•You can make a contribution online either by credit card, checking or savings account at Pay.gov
•You can write a check payable to the Bureau of the Public Debt, and in the memo section, notate that it's a Gift to reduce the Debt Held by the Public. Mail your check to:

Attn Dept G
Bureau of the Public Debt
P. O. Box 2188
Parkersburg, WV 26106-2188

I send in money every month. I think Nancy Pelosi is in charge of the Paying Down The Debt program. So far Nancy has been doing a wonderful job. Love her wish California was closer.

Citizens keeping more of their OWN money is always better than letting the govt waste it.. Just the deficit for 2010 is around 1.8 trillion; about 3.4 million dollars (borrowed from China) per minute.

Oh I agree there, but if one is to voluntarily send money to pay down the debt, it is better to get the credit then send, to the address listed, not just not claim the credit. But I will keep mine, and spend it locally to help the local economy.
