Hello,
I have a Whitefield Advantage II T wood pellet stove. Yesterday the igniter stopped working and I found that the in-line fuse was blown. So I picked up some 125v 6a replacement fuses and this is what I have:
Upon start up, with a new fuse, the ingiter begins to glow then goes out after about a minute and the new fuse is blown. Tried 2x, same situation. I checked and there is continuity but only 14.2 ohms of resistance, I read it should be around 45??
Pretty sure the igniter is sour but would like affirmation before I start throwing money at the stove.
Thanks,
 lighting manually.

Yes, the ohms reading you mentioned as around 45 is correct. IMO, since that stove is at least 10+ yrs old, I'd inspect the wiring on the ignitor leads and also all of the leads leading to the control board for worn insulation, fraying, etc.

Usually these ignitors either work, or they don't.

You did check the ohms of the ignitor after you disconnected the leads, right?

Yes, the leads were disconnect when checking the ohms. All wires from main board to module to fuse to ingniter look good. Wierd how the igniter starts to work than the fuse blows....Thanks, anything else?

Igniter is bad.

Try E-Bay.

Hey y'all. Found the igniter at a local shop for 125 USD. Put the new one in and she fired up with a new passion for life!! Can't thank you enough, y'all deserve a cold (or warm) beverage. If anyone ever :) needs any advise on land surveying issues, shoot me an email. Least I could do. [email protected]
