Thelin Gnome vs. Enviro Mini vs. ???

I run an enviro mini in my un-insulated 12x24 garage.

It has been a great unit and takes all of the abuse that i have given it so far. I believe its rated at 30000 max btu.

I have currently run approx 50 plus bags through it and gave cleaned it a handful of times.

In -13'C weather on high fire #5, i can get my garage cruising at +20C respectivly.

It uses less than half a bag on mid fire for overnight heating, #3 setting and keeps garage around 12C.


I enjoy it. Has a great fire, heat output and has not let me down yet!

We've had a Thelin Gnome since 1997. (we bought a second one in 2006). GREAT pellet stove! No repairs on either stove and we use about 2 tons of pellets per year. The stove features a standard 12 volt battery back-up system as standard equipment. In 2003 an ice storm left us without electricity for 6-7 days. The battery operated Gnome stove kept approx. half of our house comfortable and kept the pipes from freezing. (I had two back-up batteries that I'd rotate and recharge at work each day). Another feature I like is the self-cleaning control which reduces the frequency of manual cleanings.

While neither stove has required repair, I've read numerous references on the web regarding the exceptional factory customer service the Thelin Company provides. You'll find several comments about Mr. Thelin himself taking customer calls directly and enthusiastically.

In my opinion, a fine product from an exceptional company.
