Finished up the install last week and have been burning for a few days I have included a few pictures with the added dump zone.

So far its working ok but I have been idling because the storage tank isn't hooked up yet. I will start a new thread about that. Smokes more that I thought it would at idle and is making a mess of my exterior stack.

Very nice looking install. It has all the things I like to see in a boiler room.
1. Sheetrock- painted !!
2. Straight and well thought out piping.
3. Access to things that will need service.

Best of luck with it

Thanks, it took more time than I thought it would but I wanted to get certain things done before start up. (Drywall finished, paint, Dump zone).

I researched and came up with the layout, but my dad gets all the credit for quality job and making sure access was good.

Looks great GG. That fin tube looks like it took awhile to get it plumbed that square, Randy

Yeah, My dad made it as a manifold on my welding table and we hung it as one piece. Then plumbed from there to the supply and return connections.

We put 1/4" per foot pitch on the manifold and the horizontal return line.

That dunp zone would sure heat my garage nicely.

Yes I believe it would. I have it as a no power dump but might put in a relay to use as an overheat dump if it would ever over temp with power. It does only seem to over shoot the set point by about 5 degrees on the high end so so I am not sure it is needed.

You could get some good heat off the fin tube I bet. I have just 12' of 1" copper in my garage that is my distribution point for the house. Now that the boiler is running again the garage is 45 degrees from the radiant heat off the pipe.

My next projects are to insulate all the copper and get the storage running.

Good job!! Sure feels good to get it going doesn't it?

I am still getting a feel for this thing and hoping it will do what I bought it for. I am at times surprised when I go out and there is no wood left and only a few coals.

What kind of times is it taking you to heat storage and from temps?

Are you having to start fires from scratch every time?

How many a day?

Yes it feels great to get it going but I Still have more to do in the house to have that ready.

It took about 14 hours to heat aprox 1160 gallons from 55 F to 175 F I lost gasifacation a few times mostly becouse of the controller losing power. There supost to send me a new one monday.

I let the fire go out last night and used my stored heat to heat up the shop slab some. Today I'm draining, flushing, and refilling. Im currently filling one tank while draining other. Probably won't be full till morn. with my well.

I have only lit one fire so far.

One thing I always tend to look for and suggest is the coin vents in more than one place. I see you have one off your dump zone as well as your spirovent. Great thinking! I know a lot of people struggle with getting air out (myself included) and adding those cheap vents can save so much time. Nice looking install.

I assume you'll be adding more expansion volume when you add storage? Just thought I'd ask. The only other thing missing from these photos is the requisite empty beer can or two strategically placed...

I have 3 air vents one on the air scoop and one at the top of the tanks and one on the oil boiler . I also put in a manual one at the top of the tanks before auto to make it easier to get most of the air out during start up.

Yes on the expansion, I am planning on adding a line to the 1/2 line going to the expansion tank. You can see the valve in the picture.

I have a 100 gallon propane tank that I am planning on setting up for the additional expansion when I add the 1000 gallon tank.

Thank you everyone for the comments.

I will say that I am very glad I spent the money on the spirovent. It was very easy to get the air out of the system. I could hear air in the pipes and then it would just hiss right out of the spirovent, It was money well spent.
