works good on setting 1 or 2 but when on #3 for about a 60 min it will get very hot and high limit switch turn it off will stay off a bout 10 mins
then will start feeding pellets but will not light just keep fillin pot
will have to dump pot and re start on # 1 this is a new about a 45 days old anb is put in to a masonry fireplace help

probably won't relight because low limit switch is still activated. Could be a faulty hi limit reading a wong temp, could be really hot burning pellets... I'd try to trim out the auger 1st, see what happens.

This is a new stove from a dealer install? If so call them as its still under warranty.

How much have you burned in the 45 days? If you over a ton of fuel it maybe time to do a good cleaning of everything. Including vent pipe and removal of the blowers for proper cleaning. Follow the owners manual in the cleaning and maintenence of the unit. You will also need to get a combustion blower gasket before you remove that blower motor.

One last note is, You have to adjust the damper for each heat setting on this unit. Follow what the manual discribes as a proper flame for each heat setting. Going to heat setting 3 will require more air from the damper than on the lower settings.

Unfortunately summit. Breckwells don't have any feed trim for the auger above heat setting 1. All they give you is damper adjustment to handle the higher feedrates.

Yet another stove that doesn't use a manual reset high limit.

I wonder what they were using for pellets when they decided that.

Whatever it was things must have been interesting downwind.

have used 7 bags had ran onley on 1-2 tell this weekend am using blazers from hd
turn on to day on # 3 pulled out damper more to let more air in has been on 3 hours and working good
it is not fresh air vented to the out side get air from the room if the air in the room is 75-80 would this make stove run to hot

The room temp air shouldn't be an issue. Lack of air would choke the stove and make it run hotter. Can you add Outside air? Should help the stove breath if the house it kind of tight.

homer1,

When a specific spot on the stove reaches a set temperature the hi limit switch cuts power to the auger, if you are now successfully running on 3 and couldn't before it could be that your convection fan is for what ever reason keeping up with the heat produced or that most of the heat being produced is now being sent up the flue due to the damper being open wider. The little difference in combustion air temperature between indoor and outdoor air is likely the heating equivalent of a single mosquitoes' impact on the blood supply of an elephant.
