Santa Fe model any good? any complaints? I figure I ask before buying it tomorrow... Any input would be appreciated. Oh yeah, I got a deal of a life time... Brand new 1600.00
Thanks A

I have its brother the Castile and snagged it off CL used for 900.00 and had only been used 2 seasons. I thought I found a deal. Buy pellets a few bags of this and few of that and hone in on what has the best heat with lowest ash and fines content for the money and then think about bulk. You will get a lot of enjoyment and warmth out of it.

Don't forget the install pics

Love my Sante Fe...

I also have the castile quad and works for us been burning 24/7 house is 72 and its now 18 Degrees outside going down to 8 degrees tonight. You will like the heat your stove will put out.

Thanks for the quick response.... This will be my second stove for upstair.. Well at least I'll be able to give a good feed back on both of the stoves after the season is over.

Stove 1
Harman Accentra 2004 unit Modified
Stove 2
NEW.. Quadra-Fire Santa Fe installing it this weekend.

I think at this point my house will feel like the Bahamas.... NICE!!!!

Thanks A

Awesome deal on a good stove.

Eric

I paid the same $1600 for my Sante Fe year before last and it's a good stove. I have the insert model but, knock on wood, no problems.

Thanks Guy's ..... With the tax credit It should be around the 1200 dollar range....)

Andy,

There may be a warrent out for your arrest, Because you stole that one! Nice deal there!

Don't forget the pictures or did it really happen? :)

Have Santa Fe Insert. Love it. Easy to clean. Quieter than most. It is a small stove but throws alot of heat. Good luck.

Another happy Quad owner. Quad 1200i. Three years old and still burns like day one.

Keys to longevity: 1) Quality Surge protector 2) preminum pellets. 2) Once a week mainteneance cleaning. 3) End of season deep cleaning and lubricating. 4) Exhaust liner sweep from stove to roof once every other year (I only burn 1 ton per year). 5) Spray the inside of the Stove with PAM Cooking Spray at the end of the season and add 2 desiccant packs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018O035O/ref=oss_product

Hello Everyone, Long story short... I didn't buy the santa fe I ended up buying a Enviro Empress 2010. Very happy with my decision. Sorry Quadra Fan owners...(

What influenced you to go to the 'Dark Side'?????

To long of a story to tell, but I found someone else selling stove's at a better deal. But I'll tell you that the enviro stove definitly felt and looked better then the Santa Fe unit "IMOPinion" I looked at the Santa Fe but felt so cheap and not sturdy enough.. maybe I'm just used to having a heavy duty unit like my Accentra. I really don't no to much about Enviro but I took my chances with it.

Please, this is "MOPinion" and no disrespect to Quadra Fire owners....

Thanks A

There's no arguing that the Sante Fe 'feels' cheap and is mostly thin sheet metal but it works!

Wow, that's funny--we had ordered a Sante Fe yet ended up with an Empress too! I know I would have been happy with the Quad, but I do love this Empress.

Just a word of caution to anyone considering a Sante Fe: the only reason we did not buy it is because our inspector WOULD NOT pass it unless it's 4' from a window. Even with an OAK installed, which usually allows an 18" distance. One Quad dealer told us that is because Quadrafire did not pay the $150K to test that specific stove using the OAK, so therefore there is no mention of it in their manual. Inspector said...if it's not in the manual, it won't pass it. (Sigh)

So, we're about $1000 poorer with the Empress, but at least we're WARM :)

They probably didn't pay the $150K because they knew that the OAK setup on their stoves sucks and wouldn't pass the test. IMHO of course. I guess sometimes it pays to live in Georgia where the only Inspectors are in the chicken houses!
