And what do you hear out of Washington? Last time they hit this price and Bush was in office, the noise was at screech. I think they want the prices up to justify their green agenda. Solar and wind power, electric cars (subsidized with your tax dollars) and to promote the sale of Goreaid. While they decry the speculators who sell oil futures, they do nothing that is effective to tone it down. Remember, not all our oil is from people who want to shoot us. Much of it comes from Canada and South America. Whatever the oil cartel sets, the rest of the pack will follow. They are in it for what ever profit the traffic will pay. And there in is the problem, our willingness to pay. Our best control is to take control of what we can at our level. #1. is insulate. Insulate your home the very best you can. Insulate yourself against these price spikes by planning ahead. Ok, I'll get off my soap box now.

Clearly its OBAMA and his oil buddies that are driving the price up.

Right, because the Bush family was famous for not having any oil buddies.

Now just so everyone knows Obama ain't a saint and has (actually perhaps had may be closer as that exchange I believe just collapsed recently) a vested interest in seeing most fuel providers put out of business. I'll let you boys and girls figure it out.

Missing my point! Bush has a lot of oil interest. So has Cheney. In fact I listened to Cheney speak once saying gas should be $4.00 a gallon! MY POINT is that the then opposition party was making a lot of noise about the spike in oil prices and doing a lot of pointing fingers. Where are those voices now that Bush in no longer in power? they both had an agenda, but neither one did much to keep high oil prices from running the economy to ruin.

Prices will come down when everyone stops buying it. I love my pellet stove $200 per ton, my wood stove (free fuel and great exercise), my Toyota Corolla, 38MPG, my motorcycle, 50MPG and my diesel pickup, 20+ MPG.

I will be curious to see what happens to our economy if Oil and gas get to $4/gal again. The last time it did, it lasted for a few months and then CRASHED. Over the summer of 2009 I think it was, I could get gas for my car @ $1.72/gal and HHO for $1.92/gal cash.

Of course now we are hearing about speculators and global demand being higher this time around, I just don't know what to think anymore. Glad I have my pellet stove though, just wish my car would run on pellets too!

yeah but last time the prez. hadn't banned all off shore drilling and the drill rigs were still here drilling! now they are mostly somewhere else in the world and on top of it the gov. wants to force the wells that are half drilled to be plugged so they won't be any use (meaning millions of dollars thrown down a dead hole, something DC knows about) when we get real leadership back in place. You couldn't do a better job of wrecking our economy and making us dependent and vulnerable to the rest of the world if you tried, oh wait, I think that is the reason...
I can't wait until an oil man is back in the white house as they do love profit and they know they won't have any if they shut off the flow or kill the economy with too high prices, you know kind of like free market Capitalism... not that the gov lets to much of that happen anymore...
