Looking for a very plain, but contemporary design. The idea stove would be a very plain black square, no frills. Just a simple square box that you put wood into :)

The majority of the stoves seem to have a country design aesthetic, I'm looking for something modern. Imagine Ikea makes a wood stove.

Any thoughts?

Research morso, the new Englander model and this thread here may have some ideas:
https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/64573/ this thread has pics and links that show some different makes and models

http://www.morsona.com/index.php/classic-stoves.html Morso has a large variety of contemporary and classic styles as well as wall mount and inserts.

A well respected no frills company that produces reliable stoves and provides excellent customer service. Just ask the members here!

I'm sure there are many others that you could be happy with, but this is a good start. I hope it helps.
Good luck!

By your definition I'd look at the Englander stoves. I have an NC13 and it is as no frills and plain as it gets.

Any LENNOX HEARTH PRODUCTS "Country" wood burning stove 160, 210, 260, 310.... All are very basic in construction, very easy to use, and will burn almost anything. I have owned 3 in 15 years in 3 different homes. I just showed them to a good friend and he bought one too. :smirk:

What's the budget mada and how large a space are you trying to heat? There are some nice contemporary stoves out there by Morso, Rais, Nestor Martin, etc. Even PE has a stainless clad version of their mid-line stove.

Yeah, Englanders. Blue collar stoves for the every man and priced right too. And yeah, I own one. Didn't you read the disclaimer at the top of the page about starting a thread on this topic?? ;-)

I have to put in a suggestion for the Scan A-10. It's very well made and puts out some good heat. I have found nothing bad about this stove. I don't go for the "country ducky" style either but one thing about the European design stoves is they almost all have a smaller fire box. The CS-1200 looks pretty cool to me...especially the stainless sides.
