Last nights temps got down to about 12 below here. My quad sante fe kept the house around 67 through it all. Anyone else have these kind of temps last night ?? Its 0 here as of right now also...

We're sitting at 7* above zero, and the room where the stove is located is 73*, my downstairs heat pump is set on 70* and the upstairs heat pump is set on 71* and they only kick on every now and then...

it was 7 here last night with wind chill of -13 suspost to be that cold agin tonight. stove kept the house plenty warm but the oak condsindasted water all over the floor. So i wraped it with insulation hope it will better tomorrow.

Is that common ?? Oak with condensation ??

I do not know for sure I have only had my stove going for a week but the top of it was froze on the outside looked like it had snow on it. I stepped around to get closer look that is when I found the lake on the floor. lol I hope it be better tomorrow

If you have higher moisture level inside the house (humidifiers, etc), and pull very cold air from outdoors through the oak, condensation is possible. It has been mentioned on the forum a few times before, but wrapping the tube w/ insulation seems to correct it.

No different from a cold ice-filled glass outside in the humid summer months.

After the temps you guys listed, were having a heat wave here at 26* as I type this according to accuweather.
Forcast says 12* for tomorrow though.

The 2' long OAK on my P38 did the same thing last winter in sub-zero temps. I wrapped it in insulation and after an hour or two the stove shut down. :bug: . Seems something inside froze (or just got too cold). I removed the icy insulation and temporarily placed a small electric heater pointed at the OAK. After 15-20 minutes the stove started and ran fine. I now place a towel beneath the OAK. Only a drop or 2 of condensation ever falls on it.

Sounds like it's time to get out the real hot burning pellets. :bug:
I am glad we don't get those kind of temps around here too often. :ahhh:

7 heare last night also. I had the quad on low and the room it was in was 62, back room was 52. Brought the front room up to 74 in about 10 minutes.
