Saw on the forum here Home Depot and Lowes in New England are carrying Stove Chow. Couldnt find any around here to try, but TSC in taunton has them for 225.50. But they will match any cvompetitors price, so got a ton without trying them for 187? Went against everything I ever said about try before you buy!!! But from the decent reviews for the most part on here I hope im ok.

Bear in mind, they are not the same as the Barefoots, but they are a good pellet for the price. I have not seen any negatives about this years batch yet.

IMO, they are the "sleeper pellet" of this heating season. Get them at this price while the gettings good.

And since every stove burns different pellets differently, please report back on your observations after you burn some bags.

After nice results from a few test bags I got a ton from HD today for $187. No sales tax, but I did use the HD truck for $20. They dropped the pallet in bed, and my wife and I and them unloaded and stacked in the garage, and truck returned in 40 minutes. If they still have them in March I'll go for another ton.

great pellets for my stove. Thanks to Imacman who put me on to the great price, i have purchased 2 tons and I am very happy with them. Very low fines and low ash, very nice heat output.

Another vote on Stove Chow. Good pellet.

Just came back from the Poconos, Great skiing out there.

My local HD had the Stove Chows for $185/ton, burned a couple bags so far, great pellet. Another good "sleeper" pellet that doesn't get much mention is Pennington "Nature's Heat", they are often stocked at Walmart and Sam's Club, and sell for less than $4 per bag. My experience with them has been a good one - they don't burn quite as hot as the Stove Chows, but they burn cleaner and produce a little less ash than the Stove Chows. However, if you gave me the option of a ton of Stove Chows or a ton of Penningtons at the same price, I'd take the Stove Chows for the extra heat. ;)

CHRISWNY- WHAT HD has the stove chow? Lowes in Hamburg had them but now have a different brand.

skidozer - details PM'd.
