Been looking for a used splitter forever and I have had no luck. By brother in PA said they have some Blue Max 20 ton units by him at a good price. Never heard of Blue Max...figure someone on here has one. A bit scared that I cant fine much on a company website etc. Any help appreciated.

Search YouTube for a Blue Max splitter video. I saw one there.

Not an endorsement, BTW. Just info.

from (what I assume to be their) video it looks fine. My issue is I cant even find a phone number for the company. Who makes this thing? What if I need service?

ok..I spoke to Homier (who makes the unit). I am a bit more leery now. The unit is made in China, has a one year warranty but is only covered through HD. oh well. Maybe I just keep looking :(

Blue Max is the brand...the company is North American Tool. Their address is 84 Commercial Rd., Huntington, IN 46750 (which is also the address for Homier).

It seems to be an address where importers of a variety of Chinese-made goods are located. The website and the video are aimed at retailers, explaining why their products are good and how they'll get good profit margins from selling the merchandise.

Maybe you could find out whom to contact with warranty issues by looking at the booklet attached to the equipment at Home Depot.

I spoke to them and they said that any repairs would need to go back to HD and be fixed from there. Basically its a 20 ton unit for $800. I have been looking for a year and the used ones (name brand) usually sell for 800-1000 and go quick! Part of me says what could possibly go wrong with splitter and I should pick it up but I usually do not buy off brand stuff like this. Ugh!
