Im looking to purchase a ton of pellets for my new accentra insert. This is what is avaible close for me to pick up!!
new england for 285 a ton
inferno for 267 a ton
energex is 303 a ton
american wood fiber is 257
okanagan is 285 ton

I seen a test sheet from a member on here but cant seem to find it again. Anyone know the link i am talking about? it was 2 spreadsheets of test reports by jake

Okanagans burn hot and have low ash.

They are dusty and have some fines.

All in all, I like them and would purchase them again.

thanks for the link!!!

I here good things about the okanagans, but they are soft wood. The guy i purchased the insert from told me to stay away from soft woods?

I purchased 4 bags of enegex today. they burn hotter then the new england pellets. The guy selling the inferno pellets says they are top notch!! i will pick up a few bags to try them out. I guess im not gonna bother with american wood fiber.

Don't believe what the guy says about softwood, and certainly don't believe the guy selling Inferno pellets saying they are top notch. One of the dealers that sells Accentras locally sells Okanagan pellets with the stove. They would be fine in your stove. As everyone on the forum always says however, try a few bags first. Good luck.

i have been burning cubex with ok results, first ton was super, second not so good,so i got two bags of energex in green bags, and i think they are garbage, burned all black and alot of powder residue after burning. tried two bags of firesides and thought they were good, alot of heat not bad ash,but no more energex for me

There are 2 on your list that look tempting. Don't pass over the AWF and The Okies top the list. Go check out the Lowes in your area see if they have Stove Chows.

Okies for the cold and AWF for the shoulders(really there better than a shoulder pellet).

Okanagan pellets by far... The guy you bought the stove from also told you that with the new board you get 50K BTU. That should answer any concerns with soft/hard wood pellet debate in an Accentra Insert. I did burn Energex last year and not a bad pellet but Okies are better. My2Cents

new england wood/ inferno/ energex/ amercanwood fiber/ okanagan

ashy and dirty/eff-no, never again/not bad/better/best

IMO, get the american wood fiber is 257, although seems pretty high $$.

All of those prices seem very high 20-40 over on average, but it may be a different market there.

Oakies get my vote. A bit dusty on pour, but totally worth it. I've basically decided that I hate every other pellet now. lol

I just spoke with HD here in NH and they have energex and I do believe their prices are still 187 a ton + 10% coupon = 168 :)

The guy who told you that is living in the 80s back when we first started selling pellet stoves. Does he have a mullet?

I hope you reconsider or have better results than I did. I actually apologized to my stove after burning 2 bags of infernos. Then I spent a hour cleaning it.

I was starting to wonder about the 5 tons of Energex green bags I just tapped into, but it was all about adjusting my stove. They are burning fine now.

X'2 AWF pellets are a fine choice and burn well and are the cheapest, get them you will like them. They have a bit od dust when dumping but they are a good pellet.

i purchased a ton of okanagans. Im burning a bag already and its cranking out heat!!! only thing is the flame seam higher then the other pellets i was burning, is there a way to lower it?
