Southern NH
I just noticed on woodpellets.com that they lowered the price on Granules LG softwood pellets from $269 a ton (for 3 tons) to $249 a ton (for 3 tons) and only $11 for delivery for Southern NH if anyone is interested.

I've never tried them myself so I have no idea if they are any good.

I burned 1 ton of them in 2009. They were a good pellet. I found them very expensive. There are good pellets around now and almost $100 cheaper per ton.

I burned LG's from 05-08. They were great. Tons of heat. Only thing I noticed with them was the slag type stuff on my burnpot that didn't come off without a chisel or screwdriver but well worth the heat. In fact I didn't find out how to really clean my stove until I went away from them in 09. Michigan wood pellet fuel were the ones who forced me into learning my stove and how to clean it in 09 because they were full of ash. I'm not familiar with the LG pellets the last couple of years. I'm finally done with the Michigan's and onto Okies, Fireside Ultra's and looking at Canadian Energex.

I got 4 tons of Granules LG from them in '09 and would never use them again. I ended up with a lot of bags that were ruined due to moisture and weather that got to them. I was told that they were stored for up to 18 months before they were sold to me. They put out good heat but I had to clean my stove a lot more often.

I bought 3 tons of the LG's earlier this season from Woodpellets for $280 a ton. I would not consider them to be a super premium pellet as they're rated. Tons of ash, not even close to the .4% they're rated at. Decent heat, but not hottest I've tried. Pellets are not uniform so you don't get a consistent drop. Decent pellet but not worth the price I paid. Just my 2 cents.

I burnt LG's for 2 years and then I started using OKANAGAN'S. Night and day difference in heat output. I would consider LG's for fall and spring pellets(if the price were less than $215 a ton) compared to OKANAGAN. I'm fortunate that the Okie's sell for $249 a ton(and less when they're on sale) here in central Ma. Just my opinion.

Hi!

They are on sale this week here in Quebec too! But I'm surprised how expensive they are south of the border (USA). Here they were 4.99$/ bag and they've dropped to 3.68$/bag for the next 6 days.

Would that mean 249$/ton and 184$/ton?

I've used some earlier this season with my former stove, a PSG Cobra 55 000 btu. They didn't produced as much heat as Energex or Ambiance. I bought a new stove a month ago (Drolet Eco-65). I can't explain why but with my new stove, they produce as much heat as those other brands. I have a magnetic thermometer stuck on the stove's door and temp get as high with LG than other premium brands. With Energex and Ambiance, there was a kind of really hard crust in my pot wich I don't have with LG... So I might stack some bags ;-)

And as usual, excuse my poor english. I'm from the french part of Canada (hey?).
