Fairfield Cnty - CT
I'm out of wood 3rd week into Jan...any reputable dealers in Fairfield Cnty...anyone have a connection or a guy who's treated them well....I feel like the guy buying a shovel at Home Dep the day of the snow storm

Any help would be greatly appreciated......

Where about in Fairfield County - that would be important. If you want Northern Fairfield I can point you in a few directions. Keep in mind, none of these guys keep wood covered so it may be snowy/icy.

Thanks CTWoodBurner.....I'm in Newtown...any help would be great, I can't get anyone to return my call.....please PM me and thanks alot for the direction

I'm in the same boat over here on the other side of the state. I've got 2 cords I just bought a month ago sitting because they arent even close to burnable, and I'm running out of last years wood.

December & January have been brutally cold.

We are already "on" next year. A lot of ash, pine, etc.

last 3 buys has been a disaster for me, lots of rottn cht, shorts etc..and they don't return the calls. lots of people trying to get away with few bucks, i hauled about 3 maple trees chunked so far from a tree service guy(free).spring project is build the woodshed and all these supposed honest cords lowsellers can kizz my feet. i'm new to this so i'm still learning.and i'm getting my giant maple cut down too, which the guy said i can pull about 6-8 cords out of it.

Share your results with us! I've been delivered wood that is supposedly seasoned that I swear was just cut down a week before. There is at least one honest guy that I've found in CT, but he doesnt have any seasoned wood left this year. I'm to the point where I don't know how I'm going to keep my family warm through the rest of the winter.

and forgot to mention, i found this old man selling wood. and who better than old grandpops,i bought from him a true cord of well dried perfectly seasoned red oak and stacked when i went to see it,i couldn't be happier. i'm getting the other cord he got left on the weekend.
anybody knows a reference here in the forum on how to identify trees?

I made a few phonecalls, one guy had an add in the local paper "2 Year Seasoned Wood"....so I asked him.."I understand its seasoned 2 years but when was it split"...I said it wasn't split yet, if I order the wood he will split it and deliver it to me.....I told him no thank you and he should visit heath.com

R & Pallet off Route 10 in Cheshire sells scrap oak scraps by the pickup load.

I'm not sure of pricing and haven't done the slab thing with my stove, but you could check them out.
