A little off topic, but while your sitting with your backside to the pellet stove, think about looking out the livingroom window and seeing this display unfolding.

Last weekend we had torential rains here in NW Oregon.
I am about 30 miles (Line of site) from this awesome display of nature.

Here is a link to a video that was shot by some local videographers, put to music and sent to a local TV station.

***** be sure to turn the volume up as the buffer music is spendid and quite a good choice for the video*****

The Sandy River originates on the flanks of Mt Hood and this video was taken near the little community of Brightwood Oregon.

During this time, over 8 inches of rain had fallen high up on the Mountain in the ski areas and the huge amounts of water combined with the low level snow melt turned what is normally a fairly docile little mountain stream into a raging monster.

Just a little of what its like in Oregon at times.

Nice video, BUT. Makes me nervous as I live on an island. Just don't need to see what's going on in Australia. Flooding the size of Texas.

I would submit that video to all the major production companies.......thats movie material!!!

I am wondering what he used for a video camera, the quality of the video is impressive. I am guessing extremely high end, or maybe a DSLR in video mode?

Ok, I was right, I just checked the guys info.....he uses a couple of higher end DSLR's, a Cannon 60D and 7D...Just amazing quality though!

that vid was nuts!!! i like how they captured the trees falling as they were being eroded away
