-15 here and my phone is ringin' off the hook How coldd-d-d-d-d-d is it by you?

Whew! went through a low spot east of my house about 2 miles and the truck thermometer hit -24*f . The diesel sounded like it was coming out from under the hood in chunks when it started.

One of the customers I was at this afternoon lives in a shallow valley with a row of hills about a mile north and maybe a mile and a half south of his farm. The thermometer at his house said -31 and the one by his barn read -33.

-8F

Temp actually rose overnight. Clouded in. Was -1 when I went to bed, +5 at dawn.

Not as cold here as expected. Minus 1 at 6:30 but I'm learning that I'm not in the coldest place around. I'm up on a hill. My brother-in-law lives down by the river and us usually 5 degrees colder than here.

-31 degrees C, which I think is -31F...cant remember where they match LOL...all I know is its cold....decided to pass on the ice fishing today....although its sunny, just a little too cold....my sippin brandy will be too much like syrup out on the lake...

-8 F right now and it is KILLING my wood pile this week!

-15 at 7 am when I went out to boiler which had dropped to 149.

up to -1 at 8:30am

It was +8F here in the tropics of northeastern PA. Supposed to get to -4 or so tonight.

Steve - you need a webasto or espar coolant heater in that truck of yours. Program it to start 30 minutes before you head out and she'll be nice and toasty when you do.

- 2 here last night. high of 15. I wish my phone would ring. I do construction (mostly outdoors) this time of year is always slow for me. As soon as the temp hits 45 my phone will ring off the hook.

Wow, sorry to hear some of you are getting some of our normal winter temps.

Huge low pressure system around Hudson's Bay that has lots of -40 temps reported there. Sorry to say that some of you may be cooling off a great deal more.

On the upside that huge low pressure system to the East of (us) has allowed milder pacific air to move in here.

8am temp 35F here. 9 am 40F. Supposed to warm here all day. Lots of slush by tonight. Sorry to hear about your cool down. Dont forget to plug in. Doubt your Deisel will cold start at -40. Prob very bad thing if it did.

Have fun, be safe & oh yeah move more wood closer to those boilers, sounds like some of you will be feeding non stop for a while.

Sorry Heaterman the phone will not stop ringing until 3 weeks after the cold snap is over, so just catnaps for you for that amount of time.

Amazing how many people dont think for a second about their heating equipment untils it stops working in the worst cold snap of the year of course.

Time to sell some maintenance contracts when you are thawing them out. Advise them of how much cheaper it is to plan ahead. I think I will work on my suntan today  T shirt weather for sure.

What I need for the truck is a nice big shop, ICF construction with radiant floor heat and a Garn ............

Zero F right now, without factoring in wind chill, and I am spending the afternoon under the hood of my truck (in unheated space) dealing with an alternator that decided to stop working Friday evening. Came in to thaw out for a moment... Forecast for 29 below tonight.

friend of mine from church is an oil and gas heat tech, non stop calls, he was lucky to make it home by midnight last night, this kind of weather makes for great paychecks for him thanks to all the overtime.

Hit a few spots down to -15 early this am. I drive a trailer truck, and it just isn't pickups that change the noise when it drops. About -20 the ole' diesel starts sounding different.

-2 high today, -7 now with forecasted low of -30. Droppin' like a rock......

We bottomed at -36F early Fri morning, -20F Sat morning, and -18F this (Sun) morning. Looks like temp will moderate next few days, low around 0 and high close to 20. All is warm.

Saw an all time record low set somewhere in your state the other day. Guess it's only fitting that Garns are built there. That is COOOLD!!!
