So I was at my local Lowes for something else other than pellets and I noticed that their supply of Stove Chow look low, I asked the salesperson and he said they only had one ton and six bags left.

Well like a kid in a candy store with no self-control I bought the remaining ton and six bags. The good news is I had a 10% off coupon with me and got the fifty-six bags for $187!

I’m now up to four tons of pellets in the basement and looking to get at least two more tons if the prices remain low. Of course the wife is looking at me in that weird sort of way as I start to lug another fifty plus bags down the basement stairs.

So yes…I have the sickness

I just picked by 7 bags of Stove Chow to give them a try (Lowes in Haverhill, MA) at 3.74 a bag. The inferno bags in the store felt puffy and wet, so buyer beware, but also the same price. Looking forward to giving the stove chow a try at some point in the next week or so. The wife and I were doing imitations of the stove eating the pellets (like dog chow) as we were leaving the store.... got some weird looks, but we were having a good time.

I had gone there looking for stove chow, but my iphone and a google against this site for inferno made my decision to avoid them easy. I love this site!

Which Lowes did you go to ?

I just bought 10 bags of chow yesterday myself as they are forecasting -30 temps for here sunday night into monday and highs of maybe 0 deg if we are lucky... hope they work out cheap....

huge clinkers is only complaint on inferno this year. heat output has been excellent. fines are way down. I've had no auger jams this year like we did last year. Insert has to be cleaned every other day though.

Have you tried increasing the combustion air ?
This may help with the clinker formation.

I just picked up some Greene Team to get us through the next week.
They are saying single digits in the day, and negitive numbers at night.

yea I've tried all settings of air. I can give it so much that it locks me out of the board until I close the damper and wait.
