Hey guys new here installed my heritage in November. Been burning all the same 2 year seasoned hardwood since. I used to get the secondary's roaring as often as I needed and temps at 500 regulary with the maple and hickory I've got. Out of no where I'd say about a month ago my secondaries dont kick in anymore. Temps are normally around 400. New metal chimney instead in nov as well. Could it be a chimney issue? Can't really cant up on the roof with all this snow right now

could be a pluged cap, you can see that from the ground.
a cleaning could be in order.
Watch the weather, nothing puts the dampener (intended) on the stove.
secondary tubes can get plugged ith carbon buildup. this is an easy check, pull out a tube(s) and give peak. blow out if theres build up.
I have heard of other stoves damnpen being 'stuck' always good to check.
Hopefully your burning the same wood, otherwise your problem may be in your hands...bad wood (wet unseasoned) is a typical issue. try buying a gas station bundle to make sure the woods not the issue. (or those bio brick things)

good luck with it being cold out, i can imagine you need that thing kicking

HHHMMMM! I'm having the same issue with my Equinox. The wood is better this year than last year. The secondaires are ok but no where as good as last and stove temp is atleast 100 deg lower......
Flue is clean!

Well there's no screen on my chimney cap if that helps. Looks good from the ground anyways. Theres no damper on the stovepipe either. As far as cleaning the burner tubes how do I go about that? I suppose I could try a bundle of firewood from store but I'm positive my woods the same stuff. And yes now is not time to be having problems with the stove

Its got to be a secondary air obstruction. Don't know how or why cause if they work then they should be self cleaning all the time.

Is your ceramic baffle in good shape? Make sure there are no holes in it.

How does your fire behave when you cut back the primary air? Does it respond as expected? If not, maybe you have a gasket leak somewhere.

Secondary air on my mansfield enters from the bottom of the stove. There are two small openings. I don't know if they are in the same place on the Mansfield.

Do you clean out that groove in the back where the wall meets the floor? It runs along the back length, and I think its purpose is to channel air to the secondary air intake tube. I use a stiff wallpaper-paste brush to get in there and clean the ashes out. Just a thought--couldn't hurt anything.
