I've had my Harman XXV stove for almost a month now. Since day 1 it has been making a crunching sound about every 30 minutes. From what I can tell it is when it is feeding pellets. Is this normal? Also, it has started to make more of a grinding sound maybe once a day.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not a Harman expert, but some of those will be along shortly, I'm sure.

Maybe you can post some pics of the stove...we LOVE pics of new installs, especially burning pics. :cheese:

Every once in a while I get a crunch or a pop sound when the feed motor is running. All I can attribute it to is a stuck pellet or a pellet that is too long and gets chopped off by the auger.

The grinding sound that you hear once a day is more interesting though. Is it once a day like clockwork, or you randomly hear it? If you think about it and have some spare time, grab a couple beers, sit on the floor next to the stove and watch the little lights on the pannel. Take note of what sounds are coming from the stove when certain lights are on. This will be your biggest clue as to what is making the noise.

I have also noticed that any sound made on the vent pipe outside is amplified in the stove. Rain, water dripping off the eaves, etc make loud pinging or popping noises in the house. Just something else to keep in mind.

Here is a pic of the stove. I ended up making the stove board with 2"x6"'s and covered with ceramic tile.
