I won't make this long, but WHY are Shaker stoves recognized even today as as the most efficient stoves ever made in America, based on their contemporary technology. Oh, and quite the equivalent of today's stoves.

Who recognizes them as such?

Duh. what is a shaker stove? call me stupid

serious, enlighten me what is a shaker stove,I like this sight for the wealth of info I have gotten and sure will continue to gather

Gee, sound like the, I want to buy a stove.... folks. Can you, excuse me, can YOU heat a 32 foot wide building three stories high 84 feet long with stoves that are less than 2 cu. ft each??? Don't ask me to do your research, I'm too busy. Got a dog that needs atttention.

Don't recall mentioning wanting to buy a stove or a 32x84 building but that's okay, maybe someday you will ask a question of someone and they will tell you the same
Got a dog also and he's blind and I do everything I can to help him

LMAO, someone forgot their meds today.
Shaker in my mind is a shaker coal stove, where the grates are shaken to make the ash & cinders from the coal fall down into the ash pan.
Remember hearing my father shake the shaker in the coal furnace a couple times a day.

Kind of what I was thinking, just wasn't sure, and thanks for your enlightening reply Hogwildz it was much appreciated

LOL, no problemo, still not sure if I am talking about the same as Smokey, but that is what a shaker stove is to me.

Well, seems you don't know much about where you live...... Cripes you all don't even know where the table saw was invented.

Go burn punky wood and hope you learn.

The original poster might want to check his carbon monoxide levels in his home right about now.

I think leaving the home immediately is the best course of action at this point. The Carbon Monoxide levels seem to be quite high. Do you have a pet bird? If so, is it okay?

Your definitely not right in the head.

I suggest stop feeding the troll.

I'm guessing the pigeon is dead at this point.

{littlesmokey}Seems it would make more sense to give a polite reply or answer, not like you are pre-occupied,you had plenty of time to post several negative comments, maybe you will have a better day tommorrow, go spend some time with your dog maybe you will learn something from him or her

Nice move... make it my problem... You, sir, er maybe ms, completely miss the point. You don't know crap.... Gangs feed on gangs. Did you even read the initial post, or is it more important to slam the poster??? Generalizations are just that, generalizations you saw one and now it is twenty. Point me to one response that is negative and WRONG, well.... Cheap shots are easy to throw, but hard to catch.

point to one that is positive and get back to me, in the meantime ignore me and I will ignore you and things will be just fine

littlesmokey- you made a bold claim about Shaker stoves without substantiation. If it's true then it would be quite interesting. It's your homework to do, because it's your claim. One could make any outrageous claim and when nobody can find a reference about it- just claim that the other must do the work. "I said that it's accepted that Roosevelt ate 15 pounds of cabbage a day- it's a fact. If you can't look that up for yourself..."

Has anyone studied the Shakers? Do you know the origin of the steel plate stove, or the cast panel stove. I do not have to justify granola for what I say, you have to prove me wring.

This is truly a dick=wad moment.
