Hey all,

Just wondering if there are any places where I can get just the motor for the combustion motor assembly? The part number on it is J238-150-15138, I did a google search and just one company came up at $250. Mine isn't out (yet) but slowing down and squeeling more and more! What about rebuilding one, I have an extra but I'm thinking it was doing the same problem or the previous owner wouldn't have replaced it.

Huge chinkers/clinkers/ashpods....whatever ya call em

fully cleaned, ancient unit. Just doesn't seem to be getting enough air in the combustion pot

Hi joelswork,

The motor is made by Jakel. I have not found any OEM leads on them yet. I could try crossing to Fasco but that would be a down grade. You could also use this motor from this blower. If your in a pinch, Just make sure its turning in the same direction as the old one before you purchase it.

The old unit is a C-frame motor unit and the bearings are replaceable. Probably the cheapest bet!

You can also replace bearings, they are cheaper than motors which are cheaper than the blowers, etc ....

I am picking up some new bearings thursday from a local industrial supply. They had to order them for me but they are going to cost me 2 dollars apeice. I hope that it will solve my loudness issues

The thing that concerns me is the difference in the cfm rating. The one that comes up as a replacement for my part number says 135cfm, http://americanhvacparts.com/Mercha...oduct_Code=MOT70219132&Category_Code=m-115vbm, the one listed above only has an 85cfm rating. could it just be from the impeller? Both say 3000 rpm

Where could I find the bearings?

Seeing you would just use the motor and reuse the old plate and fan blade. It doesn't mater. But make sure you get the right rotation.

I would opt for the bearings cheapest way out. Most industrial supply house's can get them for you. "Grainger" comes to mind, But there are several others t choose from. If there isn't any local, You always got the internet. Post the part numbers, we can link you some places that carry them. Or use google.
